Bad Food and Very Bad Service!
We went to Supreme Doas last weekend. Made a table reservation for 4. Even though we got there on time, we still had to wait another 15 mins before the table was cleaned up and we were able sit. When we asked for the menu, we were told that they do not take order from the menu during the weekends and we should only be able to pick a set meal - that is either non-veg set meal or veg set meal. As we did not had a choice, we chose to go with the non-veg set meal. After waiting for about another 1 hour, our food arrived for the first person and the next ones followed in 5-10 mins intervals. First, the food was not the same as indicated in their website/picture. Many of the items were missing from what was shown in the website/picture. Briyani, Vada, etc. were missing. The food was not fresh, hot or tasty. We waited for more than an hour for this food and service? All the items - except for dosa - on the plate are all could only be prepared earlier (not those items that are cooked based on the order, moreover these are set meals) and therefore no need to take that long to get the food delivered to the table. Dosa takes about 5 mins to cook. There were only 3 tables occupied and other 3-4 tables were empty. There was only one person serving the customers and she was in the kitchen most of time. I think making the customer wait that long could be a technique to make the customer desperate and hungry. Now about the food - Fish was very hard and was cold inside (should be from the fridge and was not heated properly). Chicken curry had a tiny piece of chicken in it. Paratha was like a cardboard (I think it is from the frozen pack that we get at the groceries). As mentioned earlier, Briyani, Vada were missing. In total, our weekend lunch was spoilt. I would not go there and will not recommend any of my friends go there either. How come all those great reviews on this restaurant? I...
Read moreI have been coming here since before COVID and the hospitality, customer service and of course the food have been so delicious everytime. No complaints ever. The owners are so polite and nice.
We moved to downtown so we weren’t coming that frequent but we always found a way to visit and the service and food always remained the same.
Fast forward 2023, we came all the way from deep South Calgary only to be felt so unwelcomed this time. I do not know where to start. I am leaving this review to bring this to the owner’s attention. I am not sure though if we will be back.
The guy who took the order seemed sweet and genuine. We gave him the order and he wrote it down in his notepad. We ordered two combos and two drinks He did not bother to double check and we never had to double check because we never had any problems here
Another guy brings out the order and only one dosa combo which was my partner’s. The sambhar was cold and my partner’s mood was set off right away.
I am still patiently waiting for mine. After about 7-8 mins the guy who took our order, shows up and asks me if everything is alright.
We then tell him we’re waiting on another dosa. He did apologize as he might have missed it. What’s the point of a notepad, then? Anyways
I receive my order. The food quality is not what we used to have. The sambhar was so off. No one to fill the water cups or at least leave the water jug on the table. No one came out of the kitchen to check up on anything. Something we are not used to at this location.
The whole experience was just so bad. I am sorry for leaving this review but I had to bring this to...
Read moreWe came here tonight because our favourite South Indian restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. So we thought we’d give this place a try. Walked in and for about 5 mins no one was greeting us. We almost walked out and we should’ve! Food was very bland. No taste at all. Service was very poor and slow despite the lack of customer (which now I’m Understanding why) They charge high price for poor quality. My masala dosa and biryani was very dry. The fish pakora was crispy but no taste. It took forever for someone to come so we can pay so finally we had to call someone to come. Never again will we come back here. If they keep running business like this they will be closed pretty soon. If you know what good authentic South Indian food taste like dont come here. You will greatly disappointed. I mean who the hell puts almonds in biryani..... it’s suppose to be cashews you cheapos! Also they need to get new menu, they no longer serve almost half the of the stuff on their menu. Another disappointment. I’m also questioning the way the food is being handled here. Both my husband and I had an upset stomach shortly after eating here. Which collaborates to the previous comment here where someone got food poisoning. To which the owner defiantly denied that it was from eating here. And insisted that the customer could’ve gotten sick from something he had eaten a week ago. Please educate urself before you make such idiotic comment. Food poisoning symptoms happens right away, within hours. Not a week later. Your comment is very ignorant and clearly shows your lack of empathy and care for...
