Highly recommend the smash fries and the poutine. They use a unique seasoning salt with various herbs (rosemary, or something, I forget). I was very surprised how good they are. Only drawback is that the fries are clearly processed and machine-cut, which is a dissapointment since Fat Burger down the way hand cuts them.

Never frozen angus beef is an interesting niche also. A cross between Wendy's and Harvey's marketing ideas was the first thing I thought. For the quality of the burger, the price was pretty good. Not fast food cheap and not 'fine dining' expensive, this place really hits right in the middle. Burgers are served 'open-faced', so you can add your own ketchup and mustard to taste! I got the 'Calgary' burger, which I quite enjoyed (though I forgot that it had dijon mustard already, so adding more mustard was a little overkill.)

I was surprised by the sliced lemons available at the self-serve pop fountain. Interesting, I had a nestea iced tea. (I tried the passion green tea they had in the fountain to the right, but I found it a tad watery and a little off...)

Staff is very friendly. I didn't notice the first time (Saturday just before dinner, so very busy), but today when I went I felt the person who brought my food was genuinely helpful (she asked if she could get me anything else, or something along those lines, and seemed sincere with the question.) Also the work ethic the staff had when cleaning. Granted, it's a new store only about a month old, so I'm told, so we'll see if the ethic keeps up.

My only real complaint is that there seems to be always one guy who stands between the till and does petty much nothing. It was a different guy the two times I was there. I'm guessing this was a supervisor? Pretty cushy job to literally stand there and do nothing but stare off into space - the supervisor should really be the hardest working person on the team. Didn't really affect my service or experience any, it was just disconcerting a little to watch him just stand there leaning on...

IF you are looking for really Fresh burgers and fries that are unique; this is the joint to go and have a quick lunch/supper. Tasty succulent juicy burgers that will melt in your mouth. And their smashburger Fries with rosemary flavor just make it a complete meal without any fuss..! Definitely recommended for the burger lovers. Now I do see some negative experienced here from some customers and I also am reading the positive ones. I believe its possibly to do with the shift employees may be. Perhaps one shift is doing better work than the other shift. I went in day time hours around lunch time and had a great burger for sure. I do agree its a bit small sized burger and honestly was tempted to go for a second one (was tasty); but I curbed my enthusiasm that day. However, I will try the evening shift service and compare their performance some day soon. Update: I was here a second time as planned with my two kids. Once again very satisfying experience and this time I tried two different burgers. Colorado Burger is the best for sure as it has the right mix of flavors. Highly recommended for...

Was here yesterday. No photos sorry . I tried the bacon brisket burger . A single ,it was really good . The only issue is they serve beer but had none to serve went here again yesterday tried their bacon stack burger I think it was called . It's thier feature burger at the moment. Had a single with regular fries. I was the first customer of the day , everything was hot and fresh like every time I go there. Found out they have a new way to collect points. Simple to navigate through as well you can merge your points from before so you dont lose them. It's a little pricey but were isn't the combo and 5 chicken strips with Brussel sprouts for my daughter cost 45.00 I just left as I found out why it was so costly last week. The lady today informed me smash burger dosent sell combos burger fries pop. Everything is sold at the full price burger full price fries full price pop full price . The lady last week never mentioned this . In my my she or should I say smash burger stoled money from me . I would recommend that everyone boycotts this burger chain . I believe it is a USA chain . I...

If I lived here I'd be a regular customer! The burger patties are so flavourful my mouth is watering just writing this. As a first timer I paused in front of the menu to figure out what to get. There are pick your own topping burgers and some burgers which have select ingredients. They also have chicken and other options. I could not decide, although I narrowed it down to 3 when asked the cashier to tell me what was popular. She suggested the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger which I hadn't noticed. It sounded good and I'm really glad I ordered it. Not too much BBQ sauce, great applewood smoked bacon topped with haystack onions (thin, coated onion rings) and just the right amount of melted cheese on a soft, fresh egg bun. She also explained they don't have combos - it's all ordered separately. I'd read about the smashed fries here so I asked for those. Shoestring fries tossed in olive oil, rosemary and garlic. Sooooo good! Wanted to order the Saskatoon Berry shake, but went with a bottle of water this time. Next time, for sure! ;)

Our first experience with Smashburger was so good that we forgot to take a picture because we inhaled the burgers so quickly. Sadly, the second experience was not as good. My husband got the brisket burger both times, and the second time he said it wasn't the same quality. My nieces and I got the classic crispy chicken burgers. This is where the rating went to 3 stars. My burger was so thin I could almost see through it. And because it was so thin, it was like eating crispy chicken jerky! They obviously cooked it for the amount of time they would have cooked a regular breast of chicken. It felt to me like they made 1 breast into 3 sandwiches. I'm very disappointed and would have given a lower rating, but I decided to average it out to be fair. I'm not sure I will order through a delivery service again, as now I have wasted a lot of money and it feels like nothing can be done when it's delivery. IF we choose to try them again, it will be another location and it will be dine in.

Smashburger in Calgary offers a decent burger experience, though it comes with a few drawbacks. The food itself is solid—flavorful burgers with good toppings, though not necessarily a standout compared to other premium fast-food options. Service is on the slower side, which can be a bit frustrating, especially during peak hours. However, the staff is generally polite and professional. On the plus side, the restaurant is kept clean, which adds to the overall experience. The biggest downside is the price. It sits a bit above the typical fast-food range, and while the quality is better than basic fast food, it may not always feel like the best value for the cost. Overall, if you’re in the mood for a decent burger and don’t mind waiting a bit, Smashburger is worth a try. But if you’re looking for quick service or a budget-friendly meal, you might find better options elsewhere.
