I have been eyeing this place with eager anticipation for several weeks now. Last night, we finally decided to head down with the family. It was our anniversary and thought we won’t find a better time to go. We arrived around 845PM (they close at 10PM on Fridays’), first impression was the place is huge and CLEAN! I can’t tell you enough, how nice it feels to walk into an establishment that is clean and orderly. We proceeded to the counter and place an order for the Family Pack and a half order of Chicken Karahi. The order was about $100 bucks, a little pricey but not overly. We sat down and it took the store no more than 20min to have our table setup and the first batch of food coming out. What can I tell you, the food was delicious!!! You know how I know the food was great, my kids who are picky eaters, each had a second helping of the food. The BBQ was perfectly spiced and coupled with the fresh tandoori naan, started to put me in a food coma. The Karahi was good, but I would suggest the lamb instead of the chicken. It was a little spicey for the kids, but me and the wife ate and reminisced about the good times in Lahore. Overall, the food, is terrific and IMHO, the best meal we have had as a family in Calgary since we moved here 7 years ago.
I highly recommend this place. I’m not sure about the negative reviews that I saw from last year, but I suspect the owners have started to change how they operate the establishment. Overall a very pleasant experience and I do...
Read moreterrible experience, we came here to break our fast ,while eating we found a hair in the food, we went to go tell the workers about what happened and the only thing that she told us is that ‘oh let me go to the back’,no apology no nothing, we waited for a few minutes and the worker was talking to the other worker while side eyeing us and you could just tell by their faces they were saying something like ‘she’s looking at us’, we waited for about 10 minutes, I didn’t eat because who comes here to break their fast, find a hair in their food, looses their appetite and doesn’t even get a full refund for one of the adult price buffet? When we were leaving the worker brought the manager over AFTER we paid and he made the excuse that there was other people eating and that the girl said that we could eat more?? We said that that wasn’t an excuse because would YOU come here to break your fast and then find something in your food and simply eat more?? He laughed it off and said no?? He’s full on admitting he wouldn’t eat either if that happened to him and he also had the audacity to say AFTER we paid that he doesn’t know wether he could give a refund or what that he doesn’t know? Like how are you the manager but don’t know what to do in these types of situations? All I said to him is that how do you you not know what to do in these types of situations and that I’m disappointed. Could give a zero for the customer...
Read moreWe went to Kabob Fusion yesterday and overall had a pretty good time. We ordered the Big Family Platter, Haleem, Chicken Karahi, Biryani, Chickpea Curry, and Butter Chicken.
The Big Platter was definitely the star—everything on it tasted great and the kabobs were super fresh and juicy. The Chickpea Curry was also really tasty, and the Haleem and buter chicken were decent.
The Biryani wasn’t great—it tasted like it had been sitting for a while and just microwaved. Same with the Chicken Karahi, which was OK but lacked traditional flavor. I had originally asked for a half kg of Karahi, then changed my mind and asked for 1 kg. They said that was fine, but then charged me for two half kg portions ($52) instead of the 1 kg price ($38), without saying anything. That felt a bit off and kind of sneaky.
That said, the staff was friendly, and our waiter kept checking in to see if we needed anything, which was nice. I still left a decent tip because the service was good and we enjoyed the company and the meal.
If you go, I’d say skip the curries and stick to their Afghani rice dishes and BBQ, which seem to be their strong points. Also, I wish they used proper cups or glasses instead of plastic or paper ones, especially for dine-in, but it’s not a huge deal.
I’d definitely go back, just a bit more careful with what I...
