We first went into the eatery and had some drinks and they were delicious! I had a mango bubble tea slushy with rum. 🤩😃what???!!! I know!!! Delicious. My husband had a Caesar and asked for spicy and it was a really, really good Caesar. I had a sip and was surprised how much I liked it! And my husband loved it.
Then, they catered the birthday party we were going to (we didn’t even know this, at first. We were early for the party, so decided to go to subs n bubbles while waiting.
Well. If it wasn’t the best food I’ve ever had at a party. Everyone was raving about it. The compliments were just impressive. Even the young kids were going for more and they especially loved the spring rolls and fried wontons. The adults also loved those (the spring rolls were perfection. Exactly what you imagine when craving your favorite spring roll. The wontons were great, the inside filling was delicious. The seasoning on the outside wasn’t really needed and was a touch too overwhelming and salty for me but I still enjoyed and ate them.)
They had veggie and meat banh mi/vietnamese subs. I tried the meat. I think beef. It was AMAZING! Fresh, juicy, savoury meat. The white sauce and the pickled veggies, carrots, jalapeño etc all complimented each other in the beat way possible. I closed my eyes with enjoyment while eating this, it was that good.
The battered cauliflower was yummy! Reminded me of battered mushrooms.
They had saucy, spicy red hot wings and a dry rub wing. The spicy was a great heat and nice flavour as well. Not just spicy, has the enjoyable flavour.
The dry rub wings were a confusing, awesome surprise for my tastebuds. I expected salt and pepper and it was kinda that. But it had a sour component, like vinegar but extra. It grew on me quickly. I went from unsure to loving it in a couple bites and went back for one more!
The fries were nice. Had some herbs and spices on them.
The sauces I tried were all very tasty.
The dessert was decadent! A creamy kind of cheesey maybe whipped base with papaya and I think a blackberry on top. The papaya was a nice tart addition that really leveled the flavours.
There was a veggie tray but I’m not sure if that was provided by them or someone else.
When leaving I stopped and got a lychee mango slushy bubble tea and it was also extremely delicious.
I would recommend them for catering and also for just going to get yourself something to eat or drink.
Very friendly. Oh! And they have a really nice wheelchair accessible bathroom! It’s perfectly laid out. I was thrilled and relieved. It’s always hard to find a decent bathroom. And I was able to comfortably sit in the restaurant. Nice vibe. I’m so glad to now know...
Read moreI have ordered from here a few times as it’s close to my work. However, their website has been showing their old pricing - so when you show up and pay, that’s when you notice everything has gone up around $1. I have called him and let him know that the website needs to be updated. He said it’s very hard to get their website updated, and just said a quick sorry. That was back in June 2022. Now it’s August and I decided to grab dinner for pick up. Again, I checked the website, and none of the prices have changed. I feel this is shady as it seems like they’re hoping after ordering and picking up, they have no choice but to just pay the new prices. Their website is very basic - so it’s very hard to believe that they cannot update it. So please beware and ask before ordering how much...
Read moreThe good: -Vietnamese subs are great! Get the double meat with cheese and you’ll be happy. I tried the satay beef and bbq pork this time around. rice bowls are also delicious.
The bad: -Took 1/2 star off because the bubble tea was just awful. Ordered the brown sugar milk tea and it didn’t taste anything like it. Tasted like sweet syrup so I had to throw it away only after a few sips. For a place that advertises its bubble tea - I would think twice (and I love bbt btw).
-Took another 1/2 star off because it seems like the salt portions were out of whack. The sauce for the gyoza was overly salty and so were the fried wontons all together. I think this was just a human error of salting it twice...
