One of Calgary’s Hidden Sushi Gems 🍣 | A 5-Star Experience Every Time Sushi Inn may be small in size, but don’t let that fool you, this place is bursting with flavor, quality, and some of the friendliest service in town. From the moment you walk in, there’s a sense of welcome and warmth that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The sushi selection is fantastic, fresh, well-crafted, and satisfying. Their sashimi is high-quality and generously cut. I also highly recommend their ramen soup for something comforting and hearty. Whether you’re a regular sushi lover or just exploring Japanese cuisine, there’s something here for everyone. The space is cozy, so making a reservation is definitely a good idea, especially during peak hours. But even if you have to wait, it’s worth it. This is a place that deserves to be appreciated and supported, a delightful combination of authenticity, hospitality, and flavor. Thank you, Sushi Inn team, for your kindness and consistency. We’ll be back!

Yesterday after SWC graduation, my good friend and colleague, Stacy and I went to Sushi in. It was her suggestion. She made it like she had never been there. LOL But she had. The place was quite busy when we got there but it was the end of lunch. So we grabbed the last table and downloaded the menu. They had several lunch specials. The ladies at the table beside us had one of them and it looked awesome. So both of us ordered the sushi box. It was fully loaded!! It included some miso soup, a green salad, 2 goyzas, 2-3 veggie tempura, 2 shrimp tempura, 2 tuna sashimi, 2 salmon sashimi, and 4 rolls (crab?). WOW!! It was so fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed the soup and the salad. Both were very refreshing. The sushi was fantastic. It was tender and flavourful. And the presentation was very appetizing. The waitress was so attentive and polite. She was a delight. Both boxes were 22$. We had a great lunch and a super visit. My daughter, Kimberly, loves sushi. I am excited to bring her here.

Wonderful little Japanese joint on 17th Ave but about 15-20 blocks away from the action. More of a local neighbourhood vibe. Amazing staff. Friendly and eager. Menu is massive but well organized. Lots of options, classics and contemporary creations. Are you like me and you often order an avocado roll? Well they sell these by piece and it’s served nigiri style. Presentation was amazing for all dishes. Tastes and textures were on the ball. We tried the Pineapple Express which had deep fried pineapple inside the roll. We were pleasantly surprised. We also tried a fried California roll which was crispy on the outside and served kind of warm. Both of those gave us a chance to try something really unique and we were surprised by how good both were. We also had the half and half tuna and salmon sashimi and the unagi nigiri. As I said, everything is on the ball at this joint and prices are very fair. You should definitely try this and it’ll quickly become your face new sushi joint!

What irrational, unethical people run this place! Nov18,2022, I ordered the toro sashimi plate: comes with 8 pieces for $21. They said they don't have 8 pc, only 5 left. I suggested then make up the 3 missing pieces with sockeye salmon (plate of 8 was priced similar for $23 on the menu). They said 5pc of toro + 3 pc sockey = $32. I said forget it, just discount the $21 for 8 proportionately for the 5pc they have (so $13.13). They said they can only serve me the 5 pc for the plate price for 8pc of $21, as that is the "discounted" price for a plate of 8, even though they can only give me 5, not 8 pieces!!! I said they must be insane and left. Who does that?!? Their inability to serve me all of 8 pieces was not a problem of my making, it was their problem. And instead of just making it right by either discounting the plate price by the number of pieces they did not have or by making up for it with a similar quality fish, they attempt to gouge me! Terrible, irrational people without an iota of commercial sense or ethics! and its a tiny little hole of a place with 5 tables all close up together so you're practically sitting with strangers. For the prices they charge, go to a proper spacious restaurant where you can enjoy your dining experience and where they actually give a hoot about your...

My boyfriend and I got takeout here the other day and we were both super impressed!

The two chefs and the waitress that were there were very warm and friendly, and they included 4 miso soups with the food we got! Which, by the way, were amazing!

When we unpacked the sushi at home, it was immediately apparent that a lot of work went into the packaging and presentation.

Several rolls came with a sauce to drizzle on top and the sauces themselves were unique and tasted great! My favourite were the kiwi sauce that came with the Cherry Blossom roll, and the spicy sauce that came with the Rapture roll.

Our order was the assorted tempura, gyoza, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, Rapture roll, Mango Paradise roll, Cherry Blossom roll, Mango roll, and the salmon and tuna sashimi.

The only roll I didn't like was the Mango Paradise roll, but that was just due to my own tastes. (It had a lot of crab meat, which I'm not big on)

My favourites were the Cherry Blossom roll and the Rapture roll. They both had a lot of meat, nice texture, and tasted incredible!

We will definitely continue to order sushi here....
