I am not a person who leaves 1-star reviews but I am beyond frustrated with this Second Cup location. I have been supporting this location for several years since moving to Calgary and during the last year I have had consistently poor service. There are times when there is only 1 person on staff and, even with two, they struggle to complete pick-up, drive-thru, and in-store orders with efficiency. Today I waited nearly 20 minutes in-store for my chai tea latte and a breakfast cookie, after which time they informed me they did not have a breakfast cookie in stock (the only thing my daughter wanted). During that time they filled 2 pick-up orders and 6 orders through the drive-thru. I finally had to ask one of the baristas to please take my order given that I had been waiting there and that they were taking all of the drive-thru orders, while ignoring the three of us waiting in line (another person left after 15 minutes). Other times I have visited this location I have sat in the drive-thru for 15+ minutes, so I think it is a circumstance of consistent short-staffing or poor systematization inside. Either way, I will not be visiting this location again. I want to support this Canadian chain and this location is convenient for me, but I am at my limit of patience and it is quite frankly not worth the frustrating wait. I feel badly for the team members who work here but unless management steps up and hires more staff or improves their workflow to prioritize in-person guests I will not be...
Read moreA friend and I ordered two Italian sodas at this location through the drive thru today. When we got to the window and paid they handed us two flat sodas. We asked to have new ones made. She said the machine wasn’t working. (yet tried to give it to us anyways) we asked if they have any bottled carbonated water to use (as we’ve already paid). She firstly stated they didn’t have any. We told the woman (who acted as the owner/manager) that when this happened before they just used the bottled carbonated water. That is when she told us it would be an extra charge and in the same breath telling one of the staff to get that girl on the phone. We then just asked for a refund. Things were getting awkward. That’s when her sparkling personality blurted out that when we know how to run a business to come talk to her. We went across the road to Starbucks, who doesn’t even have Italian sodas on their menu. They managed to figure out how to make it happen (for cheaper and a larger size than we ordered from this second cup) I don’t frequent this location often but my friend goes every day. She won’t be supporting them anymore. Perhaps the woman we dealt with should take a note on how to run a business that cares for the people who support them, because THATS how you run a business. THANK...
Read moreEasily the worst experience I've had in 20 years at any coffee shop ever. The one employee who claims to be a manager was unnecessarily rude. Muttering the things under his breath in a language I don't understand. I'm not sure if this man knows that audio cues are and visual cues are also part of communication and it was very obvious that the things that he was probably saying weren't very nice. slamming cash drawers and furiously punching at his little screen tablety thing, I have no idea how someone was such poor customer service skills is in any kind of position of management. the coffee shop itself was dimly lit, almost barren, there was a couple of people at a table but in looking at the reviews I can't imagine that It's ever busy here or that this is a very good coffee shop whatsoever. I would not Even consider returning simply due to the managers rude attitude and poor customer service skills. If you hate your job that much you really should go and find another job sir, literally anywhere doing anything else. If I could give zero or negative stars I would because they don't...
