Thai Express Restaurant Stonegate Plaza — Restaurant in Calgary

This location is verrrrry horrible and verrrrrry dishonest and the staff is verrrry rude. I went to this location from another location who were upfront with me that they didnt have basil. I left there and came to this location and ordered fried rice basil, and without saying anything they took my order and made the food. Only for me to get home and find out that there was no Basil in the food. I called right away to complain and instead of owing up to what they had done the lady that picked the call who also am sure made the food told me they didn't do anything wrong because they had actually made the food with dried basil which by the way tastes nothing like the real thing, but the real questions is that what if I was actually allergic to dried basil???? And then she proceeds to ask me why I came to their location if I knew they did not have basil, how was I supposed to know that? how about you told me upfront before making the food that your location also does not have Basil???? just like the previous location had done?? you were deceptive and dishonest!!! You will eventually have to close that store down with a huge debt except you...

Overall, very inhospitable. The vibe is very strange when you enter. Never any people. It's very cold. There are signs everywhere telling you where to stand, where to sit (or not sit). There is a barricade on the way to the bathroom. When you order, there is a table and plexiglass window between you and the staff member. You're requested to leave the area while they make your food.

You sit in the restaurant and immediately notice how cold it is. I've come 3 or 4 times in winter and am always freezing. I checked the thermostat, which is naturally located near the kitchen, and it's set to 61F. So they are sampling the temperature on the hottest part of the restaurant. Where you sit, it's more like 50.

The food is fine, but you are shivering while you eat it. I ordered extra chicken in my curry chicken, and I still felt there was less than normal. Bathrooms have no hot water and the hand dryer blows cold for 60 seconds.

I've eaten at over five different Thai Express locations. I've had the same great experience at all of them. I visit the one on Country Hills, and I'm very disappointed. Ordered Drunken Noodle and Thai soup. Drunken Noodle had half the portion as any other location. HALF!!! It wasn't hot, and the beef didn't taste fresh. Anyone who has had Thai Express knows the food is fresh and hot. Unless you eat at Country Hills location.

The Thai Soup wasn't hot either, and it lacked ingredients. I was a bit surprised at how little was actually in the soup. The flavor was not as rich as it is at other locations either.

I'm really disappointed as this location is close to home and I do enjoy Thai Express food. Hopefully the owners read reviews and make some changes, as it seems my visit wasn't the first with...
