Robert,
As the owner I need to make you aware of my latest experience to your bbq shop. I have been your customer for better part of 10 years. With inflation I can only stop by for special occasions cuz you make a good product.
However, my beef is with your lack of customer service. The two elderly Asian ladies whom I will call the Chinese Mafia Sisters tried to pass a fast one on me. I ordered the 2-item lunch box ($13) and they acknowledged my order. However, when time to pay I got half a duck ($26) and I pushed back hard. They claimed that there was no more rice when they already prepared a container with it and were quite insistent that I take the half duck as they feigned not knowing any English. I switched to Chinese and leveraged your name which is when I got some co-operation. I finally got what I wanted for the new price of $15.
This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn’t expect to work so hard to place an order with the Mafia Sisters. I my line of work this the classic “bait & switch”. I’m hoping this is being done without your knowledge. Perhaps less time on the golf course (don’t know your winter pastime) and more training with upgraded English skill for the Mafia sisters.
I wanted to say hi to you as I stopped by before this incident happened. Perhaps the other problem is your incentives for these ladies to upsell to generate more revenue. If it is then it's at the expense of your...
Read moreI drove across the city to buy roast pork from this place as I have bought here before and remembered it’s a good product. I asked if they had roast pork available. They said yes and grabbed an old dry slab, what was left over from that morning. I asked if they had fresh roast pork available. The young lad said yes, translated to the older woman and the older woman snorted something indiscernible, scowled at me and started to cut the slab.
I was buying the roast pork as a Thanksgiving gift for my dad, I really didn’t want him to have dried up, chewy, unpalatable meat.
She refused to give me anything but the last dry slab that was in their tray. I told them no thank you and left.
Extremely terrible customer service, (who scowls at their customers, isn’t that globally unacceptable no matter what language or culture) aside from refusing to sell me fresher product.
I’ve been here before, have had their roast pork & Peking duck which is good, but I’d pay more elsewhere for respectful treatment and service.
For the vast amount of small businesses in our multi cultural city where I can spend my money at, I’d prefer to give it to business owners who care about the quality of their product and care for their...
Read moreMy family has always been getting stuff here, it is by far the best Chinese meat shop in Calgary, in my opinion at least. I find that the quality of the BBQ Pork and roast duck is much etter than what you get at a place like T&T. If you haven't tried it I would definitely recommend it. It's a family owned business whom take their time and effort to remember returning customers. The owner is super kind and thoughtful. Once in a while, my mom would get some free roasted pork bones to make chinese soup if there is some left over when she visits. I would definitely recommend visit if your not sure of what you want to eat for dinner. It's super easy to call in and pick something up to try and make rice at home for dinner. The pork also works great to make fried rice if there are left overs. They also have a great lunch box option with 2 items of choice on top of rice with a drink. Finally in terms of price, I think they are comparable to T&T prices or even cheaper for...
