Spot Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Calgary

I stopped in for a late breakfast, but ended up having the steak sandwich which was on special. It took close to 30 minutes to come out. The steak was tough and barely seasoned. The "home fries" (supposedly hand cut French fries) were made with inferior potatoes but were hot and edible. The piece of Texas toast under the steak was almost inedible. In the hour I was there, the waitress went outside for a smoke at least 3 times. I should point out the place was empty when I got there (approximately 11:45) and while I was there 2 other people came in and sat at the VLTs. The place is definitely a dive bar, but not in a good way. It had a grungy feel about it. Not a pleasant atmosphere at all. Great hole in the wall bar and grill on 17th Ave SE. The staff were very nice, atmosphere was enjoyable. The music wasn't to loud so you could have a conversation without screaming. The food was great. Got the 5 Apps for $38 plus a large chicken caesar salad and a burger with fries and gravy. The gravy reminded me of the very yummy high school gravy, which I was very pleased to find out. 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 😋 onion rings, potato skins, deep fried pickles, and the steak bites were all so good.
