Lucky Supermarket — Local services in Calgary

When this store has sales, you really are saving a lot. Occasionally, they give something away if you spend a certain amount. It is fairly priced. The store front is a little bit dirty. The fish and meat section has a really strong smell, and it is is unpleasant. It makes it hard to go in that area without gagging. It's honestly horrible the products are good. Just an update. I was here not too long ago . I saw that a can of juice was spilled. I informed the staff about the spilling and then the lady was so angry with me because I told her there was a spill. She begrudgingly cleaned it up eventually. I was just trying to help. Didn't want any accidents to happen. Then she proceeded to follow me around the store as if I was at fault. And then when I went to go check out, she came to the cashier and brought the broken can. I didn't mind paying because it's only one dollar however she acted as if it was mine, when I didn't spill it. There's no reason for me to deny it because it's only a dollar. Don't feel like coming here. I thought they were friendly. But people are just salty . Probably from all the fish in...

The staff at best ignore you and at worst will tell you to leave if you are not the clientelle they think should be shopping at their store. I've been told twice now that I'm not allowed in the store as I have brought a bag with me to carry food home. This location also hates for you to park anywhere in the large parking lot, I was there to pickup some tonkatsu sauce one day and by the time I went in and got out I had a note on my car stating the parking lot is only for Lucky's and I will be towed next time (despite actively being in the store). The store itself is almost always hard to navigate with pallets of product setup with no one in sight offloading it and going anywhere near the meat counter is nauseating due to the smell of something rotten. Also seeing the way they treat students who come in to get lunch or a snack is beyond petty. Do yourself a favor and go to TnT or another specialty market. They are almost guaranteed to be cleaner and the staff much nicer to all walks of life...

Natalie the cashier with dyed orange hair on 5/23/2025. I saw her snap at the customer in front of me “IS THAT 10 ITEMS?” - the customer had 9 items. Instead of moving the items to the end of the till she left it on the left side. I didn’t mind the inconvenience of waiting for the customer ahead of me to finish but it would have been more efficient had she done her job and move the items to the end of the till (like how regular stores do it). I purchased a can and receipt and instead of handing it to me, Natalie left it far on the left side. I asked if she could hand me the receipt and can and she pretended she couldn’t hear me. She put the receipt out of the way to the left side with the can. I grabbed my items and then returned later to refund it. It’s not about the $2 but the principle. When I returned a nicer lady helped me. It’s very clear that the young girl Natalie did not like her job or want to work. Everyone else is friendly though.
