Wild Rose Brewery offers a fantastic blend of great food, delicious beer, and a welcoming atmosphere. The beer selection is diverse and well-crafted, catering to all tastes, from crisp lagers to more robust ales. The food menu, while not extensive, is thoughtfully curated, with hearty options that complement the beers perfectly. Whether you’re enjoying a casual snack or a full meal, the quality stands out, making it a great spot for anyone who appreciates good food and drink.
The atmosphere is lively yet laid-back, with a cozy, rustic vibe that’s perfect for relaxing with friends. The brewery does a great job of creating a space that feels both inviting and vibrant, ideal for a casual evening out or a small gathering.
However, there is one significant downside to an otherwise pleasant experience. For groups, it can be challenging to secure enough space, particularly in the taproom. Our meetup group had planned ahead and notified the brewery of our visit, but when we arrived, we were told that we couldn't reserve any space. To make matters worse, as we waited for our group to assemble, a staff member informed us that the tables were needed for another group. This left us feeling frustrated and unfairly treated, especially after we had made arrangements in advance.
It would be a huge improvement if Wild Rose allowed for reservations or at least a guaranteed spot for groups who notify them in advance. While we still enjoyed the beers and food, the lack of clarity and communication regarding table availability put a bit of a damper on the experience.
Overall, Wild Rose Brewery is a great spot for casual beer lovers and foodies alike, but if you’re coming with a group, be prepared for potential seating challenges. I’d recommend checking ahead to see if they can accommodate your group, or consider visiting during less busy hours to...
Read moreThe food was pretty good, beer is great - but not good enough to make up for the "rude server" problems. The pub was busy, as it was lunchtime, but you'd have thought our server had to serve a crowd during the sinking of the Titanic, she was so miserable. Grumpy, slapped things on the table, and had to be asked for everything. Long waiting periods. Scuffed around, really unprofessional appearance and behaviour. When hair is that long, it should be tied back. She scuffed around in a big grumpy hurry, sounded like she was in slippers.
One of those cases where you end up looking around for the server, and she seemed to spend most of her time at a table full of guys at the other end of the pub, or behind the bar. Another server, male, very pleasant, came along to pick up on her duties, but the meal was spoiled by the poor service. We sat near the kitchen window, and watched as someone's food sat there, and sat there, for a good 10 minutes. No heat lamp.
We had to ask for cream for the coffee from the other server, and that took some time to get to us; had to ask for dessert menus which were slapped on the table, and had to ask for the bill. Just such a tough life this poor server has, can't find a minute to say anything pleasant, and can't be bothered to check up and make sure everything is ok. I'd think twice before going back. They really need to up the level of professionalism. No tip. I do not like servers who treat women, especially older women, as if they're second-rate. There's nothing like handing someone money while they're treating you as if...
Read moreLast Saturday I brought some friends from Edmonton and Lethbridge over to W.R. We sat at the patio and the waitress came and asked us what we'd like. I said I'd love some food and water. The waitress looked at me and - I don't know if it was passive aggressive based on her facial gestures/tone - told me to go to the pitcher and get myself a glass of water
I gave myself sometime before writing this review but I still can't shake off the feeling that I've been dealt a rude and inappropriate hand.
Am I not at a pub? where there are servers to serve their customers? is it because the water is free? I mean the sandwich is f'n $22 for what I can prepare at home for $5, that's not free!
Either way, I think it is inappropriate and extremely rude. To that server, I gave you 15% tip instead of my originally intended 0 because I appreciate how hard your work is, you might have had a bad day, but each one of us has bad days EACH day of our lives in this current economic environment. due to your lack of professionalism, I won't be coming to W.R again, which is a shame, I loved this joint but I can't deal with rude waitresses in my limited available free time and 'outdoor'...
