REVISED:
Thank you so much Ryan for responding so promptly, and with the perfect resolution to my initial anger towards your cafe. Originally I had high expectations for this beautiful place and was unlucky to have had my first 3 experiences here as bad ones. I appreciate that you have taken the time to hear my rage and respond to it like a true gentleman. I was happy to find honey available at the lid station this morning when I went to give it another shot with the tea. As for the other things I totally understand that this stuff can happen, and the cold brew wasn't even a big deal to be honest, I see the efficiency of having them pre made into cups, but just the ice in the cup lead me to believe the entire cup was frozen before hand. I realise now that it's just in a very cold fridge. I am more than overjoyed with the actions taken to please only one of thousands of people who visit Barrow, and so quickly as well. I change my 1 star to 4 for this reason and I'll be returning to this cafe for future beverages and food. :)
I also learned more about the origins of Barrow and I wasn't aware of how much heart really is in this kind of place. I was under the assumption that it was run by the university.
I wish I could give 0 stars This cafe is complete garbage.. I've ordered on 3 occassions but never again. First time I ordered a cold brew, it's rare to find a cafe that has this and so I was excited, as I was paying the girl went into the fridge and pulled out a cup and handed it to me,. It had previously been frozen, not poured fresh and had a cup shaped ice chunk in it and I couldn't stir in cream or anything, I also got simple syrup afterwards, added for no extra cost, it still tasted bad. Second time, I just got a sandwich having had a bad drink the first time I decided to just get food, they looked good in a case, but the breakfast sandwich they gave me was almost burnt, it was very hard and difficult to eat, didn't taste great. Again, so disappointed I had spent so much on this. $6+ for a small sandwixh Today, I ordered a tea, they game me a cup with tea bag just as expected, but when I got to the end with the kids, there was no sugar or honey, so I asked for honey, they yes they had it but it was $1 charge...... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? the fact that you charge for honey in the first place is ridiculous, since i had gotten the simple syrup before hand at no cost. Even if you did I would expect 25¢ for a small packet of it, but a whole dollar?? In a University where we're all broke to begin with?! That's a joke, and I'll never buy anything from this...
Read moreI've been here a few times before and they have all been wonderful and delicious experiences. Barrow offers a very nice selection of drinks that aren't typically served everywhere - my favourites include the LAVENDER London fog (delicious), coconut latte with soy (wonderful and not overwhelming, rich and decadent espresso flavours), and the iced chai. They offer soy and almond milk alternatives too!
Today was my first time seeing the owner, Ryan, at this location (I don't frequently visit this location). In the 4 mins that I waited for my drink, I watched him single handedly make 10+ drinks. Amazing! Staff are also friendly...
Read moreBarrow has many options for all. And takes great care in knowing what you want. As I cannot have regular milk I usually don’t go to cafes because I’m concerned they will accidentally use milk, but I never have this worry here!! Plus, the staff are so nice!! Not to mention, they are so open to listening to what people have to say in order for them to improve. Overall, an amazing experience every time and I would recommend it...
