I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming little Thai restaurant that truly captured the essence of cozy dining. The atmosphere was simple yet inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal.
The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, showcasing the rich flavors of Thai cuisine. I decided to start with the classic beef pad Thai, which is always a must-try at any new Thai place. It did not disappoint! The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the balance of flavors was spot on.
I also indulged in the green curry, which was nothing short of delightful. The creamy coconut milk paired beautifully with the fresh vegetables and tender meat, creating a comforting dish that I couldn't get enough of.
As an appetizer, I couldn't resist the egg rolls, and they were fantastic! Crispy on the outside and filled with a savory mixture, they made for a perfect start to the meal.
To top off the experience, I treated myself to the sticky mango rice for dessert, and it was heavenly. The sweet mango paired with the warm, sticky rice was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
Overall, my experience at this cozy Thai restaurant was exceptional. With so many enticing dishes on the menu, I can't wait to return and try something new next time! Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Thai flavors in a warm and...
Read moreWe live right by here and was so excited to try this place. We got take out and tried items from both the sushi and Thai side. Even though we had pre-ordered dinner, when my husband arrive to pick up he was informed they were running behind. They gifted us with spring rolls for our wait, which was crazy, maybe 10 mins. We appreciated and enjoyed the spring rolls. Fried to perfection!
We really enjoyed the Thai food. The pad thai was good and the curry was even better. We tried the swimming rama and the flavours of the curry really came through. The lemongrass made it so tasty. My friend had Thai fish before and so we wanted to try the Pla rad prik. You can order it in fillets or whole fish. We did the whole fish and it was ok. It was a bit hard to eat because the skin of the fish was hard. Perhaps a bit overcooked? The sauce that was served over the fish was delicious though. Then we ordered some sushi rolls. Most of the rolls are cooked food. They were ok, nothing too special. I appreciated that the rolls didn't fall apart like some other places that are fully sushi restaurants though. We also ordered some salmon sashimi, but it was still frozen.
Zab Der is in their soft opening phase right now, and we'll be returning for sure and hope to update this review to a 5 star in the...
Read moreWhat a gem of a place! Very friendly and attentive staff that are happy to help with the menu and selection. They have a very extensive menu. We got the deep fried fish and the combo for two which comes with spring roll and satay chicken for appetizer, green curry and cashew stir fry with coconut rice for main course and ice cream for desert.
Everything was perfect! The green curry was the best I have had and the fish was so crispy outside and tender inside and it was done exactly how we wanted.
Each dish comes out with a special sauce that goes really well with the food as well.
My go to place for Thai!
Update: we went for a second visit with a larger group of 5. I made a reservation as well. Food was great and everyone enjoyed the taste however the service was just terrible! They put two tables together, one of which was so wobbly that made sitting comfortably impossible. There was no sense in bringing out the orders either, they kept coming in such a random fashion. Appetizers were brought after two of the main dished were already served. There was a huge gap between serving main dishes as well that we just decided to share everything. One of our party had ordered fish which came out when everyone else was done with their food and no one had the appetite anymore. Extremely...
