J.C. Royal Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Cambridge

Checked the reviews, gave it a shot. Took an hour for the fresh rolls and Tom Yum soup to show. And still waiting for our main dishes as I’m typing this. Wish I wouldn’t be doing this out of frustration, but here we go.

I’m still waiting 😒. The soup was salty, not typical or authentic for Thai. Fresh rolls, the sauces were great, can’t mess fresh rolls up.

Once the main dishes come, I’m not sure I have time to catch our movie now, so I might need to get it to go… def not tipping. Poor customer service. Hope they hire at least one more person.

Server seemed confused and disoriented took our full order AFTER we had our appetizers. And I’m dumb for letting that happen.

Update: Owner replied to my review that they were busy. There were only 2 people in the restaurant. Why I took the picture. And in the span of the 2 hours, 3 people came in for pickup. I added another star because the pad Thai was good and the main dishes were...

JC Royal had been a blessing to the hespeler community. A family owned and operated business, the passion and hardwork is demonstrated through the amazing consistency of food quality. Never have I had a complaint about portion size, taste, missed items (which is remarkable considering the state other restaurants are in due to the quarantine). There really is nothing I feel JC has to improve on as the food is always hot, fresh & cooked to perfection. The flavour is unmatched through their variety of homemade spices and sauces as it is 100% authentic. Love you guys keep up the good work! PS. I encourage all to try the home made peanut sauce! If you find this review hard to believe go ahead and order for yourself ! You will not be disappointed!

We ordered green Thai curry and pad Thai and a few side dishes. First is the food, everything tastes good except for the pad Thai, it’s so dry with only 2 shrimp for the whole plate full of noodles, and mostly importantly, for me, it has a metallic smell which I really hate. The price is not too bad, BUT, they charged for the white rice when I ordered the curry??? Rice/ bread always come with the curry for any other restaurants I’ve been to unless you want more (the curry alone is already around $17-18, which is not cheap). A $3 bowl of rice is not too much but it feels so weird. There’s only 1 man server (maybe also the owner) and he just disappeared after giving us the food, should at least come around to see if we need water or anything. My husband had to wait and wave to get his attention. Lastly, they didn’t turn on air conditioning when we were there, it felt so stuffed and hot, especially when you eat hot...
