Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Campbell River

Normally the experience we have going through the drive through here is good but tonight not so much. I tried ordering a Misty Freeze (slushy/ice cream) drink and requested to have it made with less ice cream and not not be so thick. I was told no problem. They gave me my drink and immediately I noticed that it was still so thick that I could turn it upside down like a blizzard and nothing would drip or fall out. I tried asking for a bit more slush in a cup to add to it so I could drink it through a straw but was confronted by someone I assume maybe was the manager or supervisor standing back from the window telling me i am causing a problem and wrong for asking for a drink to be made with less ice cream. She told me that no matter how much ice cream they put in the drink it would always be thick like that. She told me that she made the drink the way she likes it with less ice cream. What about the way I would like it? I asked it if I could request it next time with 1/2 or 1/4 the ice cream portion if I wanted even thinner than this time. She told me that I was mad at her and would be better off just ordering an ice cream and a slushy separately and mixing it myself. At this point I just gave up. Apparently trying to ask for less of an expensive ingredient in one of the products is a massive issue at this location. I have had no issues requesting the drink the way I like it in Nanaimo when...

I have found that since the new location opened some time ago my experiences have been less than stellar kind of mediocre at best and absolutely slapped together and unable to even eat it being so soggy and inedible.. The other location was a regular stop and tradition. The last time we ordered food was when it was so sloppily put together and the toppings were mushy bun so soggy it fell apart and cold fries. BOTH sandwiches so at least we were both left disappointed and hungry lol I called right away to complain 0ⁿthe meals if i remember came to like $26 or $ 27 his was at the begin of COVID 19 so awhile ago but Google just asked me because a friend wanted a Blizzard when I was driving and I took her . No one answered but there was voicemail so I left a detailed message and no called me back .That night I threw the bag in my freezer as I was not impressed and thought I should have some proof . It still in there I hate chunking it out...

Went there with my two daughters today Feb 28th 2019, at 430, they were so friendly to me and the kids, we ordered our food and even tho it was busy we recieved our food within a minute of sitting down. After getting our food the manager I think it was or an employee came to everyone's table (like I mean every persons table in the restaurant), and made sure we recieved all our food and it was done to our liking. He was super friendly with my daughters... Amazing service.. we are new to CR and new to bc where we are from the service sucks back in sarnia Ontario so this was a pleasant experience def reccomend this one. Food was great too!!! Cheers...
