Sunny Day Café — Restaurant in Campbell River

We stopped here because it was a small cozy cafe We ordered the roast turkey sandwich with stuffing & cranberry sauce When it arrived it did not look very appealing Instead of sliced turkey it was all diced & mixed in with the stuffing It also had more stuffing than turkey It looked like leftover bits of the dark meat We explained we expected the turkey to be sliced The owner argued with us that this was the way a turkey sandwich is made He also claimed that sliced turkey is processed turkey He then brought out the cook to tell us that this was the way turkey sandwiches are made Well instead of taking it back & remaking it or offering us something else He proceeded to argue Not good customer service at all After many minutes of this I paid the $10 as that seemed to be the issue that he would have to throw it out He could have used it in something else or born the cost of a couple of dollars The $ seemed to be the big issue rather than customer satisfaction for repeat business It was obvious that customer service is only available when there are no issues We were appalled that he would stand an argue with the customer then call out the cook to argue as well Turkey sandwiches are my favourite Never have I had one that the meat was not sliced & layered If the menu had discribed it as a turkey SALAD sandwich I would not have had an issue I have gone on line & researched over 4 dozen receipes for traditional turkey sandwich with stuffing & cranberry & NOT ONE HAD DICED TURKEY IT WAS ALL SLICED THE STUFFING LAYERED ON AS WAS THE CRANBERRY These sites were some of the best chefs & restaurants in North America So this little family business will receive more than the cost of remaking a sandwich to the customers satisfaction. When there for breakfast. My sister and i got the crepe and this pancake thing. Well i didnt end up eatting my crepe because the texture throw me off ( i am pregnant and so is my sister ) so i told the lady i am sorry i just cant finish it and i explain i was pregnant and she try to give me half off the crepe and i said no no i want pay full price because it wasnt your fault and the food good it just the texture and i pay for the meal and she offer me and my sister 2 stones and cinnamon bun for free. I said she didnt have to but she wanted to and said pregnant woman need to eat lots. I go back again. The food great and not only is it good but it huge!! I almost never write reviews, but this meal was so bad that if i could give it zero i would. The coffee was like it was out of a can to start. The food was almost inedible...in fact i left at least half of it 9n the plate. It tasted like they have never cleaned the grill...ever....old grease taste. The omelet was slightly better than subway, but it was close....the "crepes" came as one giant blob of greasy undercooked dough. I do have to say that the staff waa very friendly, but whomever was cooking is not very familiar with having a restaurant ....it took nearly an hour to get the worst restaurant meal i have ever had. She did discount it by half and threw in a muffin, but i feel sick to my stomach ...sorry, you seem...
