Stonehouse Teas — Restaurant in Campbell River

While I grew up in Campbell River and visited Stonehouse Teas frequently, I now live in Ontario and miss their bubble tea. Every time I visit home, Stonehouse is on the list of to-dos and today, on day two of being here, we went and checked out all the new upgrades to the store. Previously, they did not have as many bakery items as they do now and everything looking so good. The scent walking in is nostalgic and I was so excited to try a treat alongside my bubble tea. Ya’ll- I am not exaggerating when I say their carrot cake is phenomenal. It is moist and full of flavour and the icing is incredible. It’s not so terribly sweet that you can’t enjoy it and it is also the perfect texture. I took a bite and immediately knew I needed to write a review. I ate some more and got a couple other shots because it’s just that good I had to share! I also enjoyed a vanilla chai bubble tea with tapioca and it was as good as I remember! But man- this cake though? An absolute must-try. I’m also going to try the pumpkin loaf next visit and I just know it’s going to be delicious as I was considering getting that today but I decided to go for the carrot cake and wow. Just overall a 10/10 and a must try overall when visiting...

As a Vancouverite living in Campbell River during the bubble tea hype, I was desperate for some BBT. I was super happy to see a place that offered BBT!

The shop has a large selection of loose leaf tea, tea ware and tea accessories (ranging from tea infusers to tea cozies). They have everything (and more) to make a perfect cup of tea. They also offer a selection of freshly baked pastries.

Their BBT selection is also huge! I opted for the strawberry slush with pearls. Coming from a place where bubble tea is widely available (ie. Vancouver), my high expectations for BBT in a small city (ie. Campbell River) seem a little unfair. I'd have to say the the pearls were disappointing; they weren't soft and chewy. It's the same pearls that I'd get if I saved my BBT overnight in the fridge. The slush itself was good though. Ultimately, I was happy I was able to find BBT in the city. I probably wouldn't get BBT here unless I was really craving for it. However, I would come back for their tea and fresh pastries, which was very satisfying! Very kind...

Who remembers some older fellas name in Xmas frenzy? EMILY, that's who!! What the Heck?

Another, third smiling, knowledgeable staff member steps into the breech, sorts me out...quick..shepherds a flustered me through the transaction, makes sure I don't forget my laitè and VIOLÀ...out the door I went...SWOOSH!
