McDonald's — Restaurant in Campbell River

I am not a frequent customer at my local McDonald's or any McDonald's for that matter .I seem to have an issue each time I do however. I hadn't sat down in a McDonald's in well over a year possibly 2 before Covid made dining non existent. I have used the app the last 2 times I went because it seems to have decent deals. I had to use my Visa Debit in order to place my order via App to get those deals unfortunately and I wanted to use cash. When I got to the menu speaking with the employee in order to give my code I asked if that was possible The employee was polite and told me they had to check I also had ordered a Peach Passionfruit Smoothie substitution for my Drink and the upcharge was $.50 for a small and the Medium $1.30 extra. I thought those numbers were a bit strange in comparison to the size, but what do I know? Especially compared to an entity like the *Golden Arches aka McDonald's I noticed a Coffee Frappe on the menu board so I asked if I could please add one . I was told no sorry the machine had already been cleaned . I also inquired about the Chai being the same machine and yes it was so I was driving to the next window and it dawned on me that the other smoothie must be unavailable as well . Sure enough same thing so I had to switch to Fruitopia . Next issue. I had to ask about the extra charges and I was told that they couldn't refund me at this point so he took down my first name and instructred to notify staff for the next time and they would get me the Medium Peach Passionfruit Smoothie. I had already been upcharged for So all that from one order of one Value Meal for one person around 11pm. Oh I forgot to mention the fries were cold , limp , and greasy !! I had a burger from this drive through that got me sick as a dog…. My fault for going through at 2 am. I did eat a couple of bites of the burger and it was covered in grease, to the point were I thought I was getting punked. It was dark I was driving and I was really hungry, I was driving down island. It tasted weird, even for a McDonald’s burger quarter pounder. I did stop eating it, I just had a look at it this morning when I was about to throw it away from my car and there is a least an 1/8 of an inch of grease in the box, like I said it was dark and I couldn’t figure out why it was so greasy. I used all the napkins and my hand was still greasy. I open the burger an Lettuce and tomato was cover in black something, like dirt…. Not sure what these kids were doing that night, playing tricks, not to sure but I’m reporting the matter to food safety, at environmental health in Campbell river.

The manager of the store reached out to me to see how I was feeling and if there was anything she could do. Offered to cover next meal. She seems to be taking matter very seriously and said she will reach out again when she has touched base with the staff...

I went thru the drive thru on Sat May 24 and had ordered a large coffee, I proceeded to the pay window and handed the cashier a full coffee card. She said, "I'm sorry this is only for a medium". I offered to pay the difference and she said I couldn't do that and would I like to pay for a large or take the free medium. I proceeded to the next window to pick up my coffee only to witness them pouring my large already filled coffee into a medium cup and throwing the rest away. If you expect us to think that you are losing money on giving away a free large coffee, what did this save you? I always buy a large! This is the first McDonalds that has ever done this and I travel allover Western Canada. I will continue to order a large and if you want to throw away the extra coffee and cup that will...
