Steiner Bakery — Restaurant in Campbell River

one time visit to Steiner, a 30+ year operation, as we left Campbell River on our way north. Delicious looking wide variety of pastries, breads, and cakes. Enticing lunch menu. Also a seating area for sipping and noshing. We chose two large croissants for sandwich making later and a “gotta have it now” apple fritter. I without fail will search out a local bakery everywhere in the world I travel, and I will say with zero hesitation that this still warm, cinnamony, fritter was right at the top of fritters/pastries I’ve ever enjoyed anywhere. Could not have been more perfect. If I had the time, I would have turned the car around gone back for another. I look forward to visiting the area again and enjoying another fritter or two and many more of this bakery’s selection of surely...

I was passing through town and had exceptionally good baking here! They have these raspberry oatmeal cookies that are thin and crispy, yet oh so chewy on the inside, and the oatmeal/raspberry combo is delicious! Walnut apple blackberry muffin was humongous and also a great combo of flavours. The Bakewell tart could have had a little more cherry to it, bring on the cherries!! :p Chocolate mocha cheesecake was decadent and delightful, incredibly creamy and looked stunning, it's a showstopper for sure! If you are anywhere near Campbell River, do check this place out. They also make a ton of bread, donuts, pastries, and many other items I did not have the opportunity to try. Absolutely unprofessional. Lacking in customer service. Very rude when calling in, employee over talks & is dismissive .this bakery used to very accommodating to customers requests however today that was not the case. I have used this bakery many times and never have I dealt with such a horrible person. Will not be using their services for future events. Very disappointed. Employee was rude ( loud talker ...almost yelling)when my husband called in and then when I called in as well to cancel the cake due to a lack of willingness to accommodate.
