My girls and I picked up 4 blizzards tonight. when I got Home my littlest one said hers tasted really bad (I thought she was just complaining because it was a new flavour something ) ,She continued to eat it and then said she couldn’t because she was going to get sick that’s when I tasted ! it and it tasted like turpentine ( i’m just assuming that’s what turpentine tastes like ) Out of obvious concern I attempted to call The 48th Ave. location and only got a voicemail that was completely full I decided I better drive back into town and go to the restaurant as it was something seriously wrong with this blizzard. I asked for the manager when I got There I explained what the problem was and he turned me towards a young lady making A blizzard and said no no I must be wrong as they only use fresh stuff I told him to go ahead and smell it ,even put his finger in and try it then ! he smirked and said no I can’t do that. The Young lady that originally made the blizzards came over to me and smelled it, and said (that’s not right ) she then took a spoon and tried it and said all my God. She went directly over to the chocolate and tasted it (wow chocolate is bad ) The manager then tried it I was at the sink trying to get the turpentine taste out of his mouth within seconds seconds She said thank you for bringing this to our attention and the manager didn’t say another word to me just walked away I was blown away that no one asked about my child (if she was OK )or even offered a refund on the blizzard I brought them back with bad chocolate I suppose it’s just A sign of the times with zero customer service...
Read moreI had not been to Camrose for five years, so this was my first time in their new location. Also, it was my first time with the new menu.
Location: OK. More modern and standard compared to their old location downtown.
Service: I talked to two different staff. One when I ordered, and one after I finished my food and was about to leave. Neither could tell me the difference between their first three burgers on the menu. I was told to "look at the pictures".
Menu & Food: The new menu gives names to their burgers, but doesn't say what is in them. I only learned what was in the burgers when I went to the DQ website when I was home a couple of days later. The burger patties are now thinner, which explains why there are now triple burgers. The triple burgers probably have the same meat as DQ's previous double burgers. The burger patties are not cooked the same as before, and do not taste as good as before. They used to have a grill taste, but not anymore.
Price: The prices are much higher for the same type of thing as before. Last autumn (the last time I ate at a DQ), my meal (burger, fries, drink), was a total of $11.74. This time it was $16.79 for the comparable meal.
DQ used to be my first choice for burgers. Not anymore. As for this location, I can't ignore the lack of knowledge of the staff for what they...
