During our journey from Toronto to Ottawa, my travel companions and I made a mid-afternoon stop at the McDonald’s Restaurant in Madoc. Situated conveniently off the TransCanada Highway, this bustling eatery proved to be a welcome respite for weary travelers like ourselves.
As we approached the restaurant, we were struck by the unexpected busyness. The drive-through line was brimming with vehicles, and the restaurant itself was bustling with customers. This popularity among travelers is a testament to its convenient location and the reputation of McDonald’s as a go-to spot for quick and satisfying meals on the road.
Despite the crowd, we were pleased to find that the restaurant was relatively clean and well-maintained. The staff seemed to be coping efficiently with the high demand, and the service we received was decent. The ambiance, while not particularly remarkable, provided a comfortable setting for a quick bite and a brief respite from our journey.
Our order consisted of an ice cream cone, a McChicken sandwich, and a large serving of fries. Although the food may not have surprised us with its gourmet quality, it fulfilled our expectations for a satisfying and familiar McDonald’s meal. The ice cream cone was a cool and refreshing treat, while the McChicken offered the classic combination of tender chicken and crispy breading. The large serving of fries was exactly what we needed to satisfy our hunger pangs.
While we did encounter a minor hiccup with our order—the wrong McFlurry—we were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant’s quick and gracious response. The staff promptly rectified the mistake, replacing the incorrect order with the correct one in a timely manner. Their courteous and efficient handling of the situation left a positive impression, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Considering its convenient location and the cleanliness of the facilities, I would recommend McDonald’s in Madoc as a worthwhile pit stop for travelers on the TransCanada Highway. It offers a convenient break from the road, complete with the familiar menu options and quick service that make McDonald’s a reliable choice for a quick meal on the go. Whether you’re in need of sustenance, a washroom break, or simply a momentary reprieve during your journey, this McDonald’s location in Madoc is well-equipped to cater...

Yesterday, I went inside the restaurant to order a breakfast sandwich. As I waited for my order, the busy kitchen staff bustled about, preparing food. I watched as one of the staff members picked up a cooked egg and held it in the palm of her hand. She laughingly said at the top of her voice that she was waiting for the toasted bun, and stood around chatting and joking with her co-workers, with the egg in her bare hand the whole time. Eventually, the English muffin was ready, and she put the cooked egg she had been holding onto the sandwich, wrapped it up, and it went into a bag that was handed to me.
I did not make a fuss, but I told the server I saw how the egg was handled by the staff member. “Would you eat this?” I asked. Although there is only one answer to this question (spoiler alert, it’s “No”) she stammered awkwardly and I had to ask the question again before receiving this response: “Well, I work here.” I said I’d prefer food that didn’t sit in someone’s bare hand for a minute and a half.
Another staff member came to my rescue. She apologized kindly and offered to make a fresh sandwich, which they did, but I went away shaking my head. If I had gone through the drive-thru, I would not have seen my food handled in this way. They would have wrapped it up and given it to me...
Read moreAfter having visited this place in Nov 2017, the ordered for breakfast for the Mrs, and daughter were mixed up. But yet, again the staff’s response made the visit so pleasant. I as a vegan, get hardly get anything to eat (if you remove the fries and hash browns), but the staff make all the difference! Keep up McD and I hope you are listening. Give this staff a special thanks who worked the AM shift on 2018-03-31!
Have been visiting this McD for a few times a year on our way to Ottawa, when kids want to eat pancakes.
The location is not that busy inside during morning hours and is always clean and tidy. The last time we visited amongst other things they messed up my bagel order. When I went back the cashier was very helpful and made sure that it was prepared as needed and also did. It charge me for it. I even told her that I am keeping the bagel as Mrs said she would eat the bagel. She it was fine, I insisted I pay but she said we messed up, so the order was on us.
Pretty impressed!!
Usually a TH coffee drinker, but now that I have tasted the McD coffee, I find the brew to be consistent at places and find the taste better. Who knows, I may soon switch.
BTW, they do need better bagels and some more Vegan and...
