Benedictine — Restaurant in Châteauguay

I went to the restaurant on Saturday 9/9/23 and was served by an asian waitress who acted as the manager. Her service was attrocious, bad mannered and non-existent. After a long delay, the breakfast was brought to the table cold and we had to ask another waitress passing by to refill our cups of coffee. When it came time to pay the bill, we left a tip proportionate to to the service received and she had the gaul to demand a minimum of 15% tip. When my wife refused to listen to her demands, she rudely repeated her demands at least 4 times as if we were "obligated" to tip her according to her expectations. I can only suggest to future customers to avoid this restaurant (as prices have skyrocketed), but should you feel the urge to frequent the establishment, please avoid being served by the asian gal who thinks she is the manager.... and if she is, she should take up courses in dealing with customer... i.e: politeness, service, laws, respect. Benedictine is the perfect spot for a hearty breakfast or brunch that hits all the right notes. The food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully plated. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the breakfast potatoes were crispy and well-seasoned, and the fruit was vibrant and sweet. Everything on the plate tasted like it was made with care, not rushed out of the kitchen.

The portions are generous, so you definitely get great value for the price. The atmosphere is bright and modern but still feels cozy, and the service was quick and friendly. It’s the kind of place where you can relax with your coffee while enjoying a satisfying meal.

i am being generous with a 2 star review and only because the food was decent the coffee is horrible... we were a group of 5 and waited at door 10 minutes - we were the only people waiting (the restaurant was busy but not full). We were escorted to the back room. Only 1 other table being served in that room. It took 35 mins to get a menu. I finally got up and went to front to ask for one - we asked for coffee at same it took another 10 mins. Ithen it took another 45 mins for our waitress to take our order and it was wrong - one full breakfast was missing. I shared my breakfast because we had been there 2 hrs before we got our food. At the cash, 2 waitresses were complaining about poor tipping... maybe it was a direct message... although the food is good, I would not recommend unless you have 2 hrs+ for breakfast and only...
