Aldo Reny’s Authentic Italian Gourmet Panini — Restaurant in Charlottetown

This sandwich shop is the best sandwich shop I have ever been to. I like Sammie's. A lot. And I have had my share of really good Italian sandwiches but this was unlike anything I have ever had. Wife and I decided on the San Marco because of the truffle cream sauce and it far exceeded my expectations. We ordered and then waited for about 20 minutes as they methodically handmade the sandwiches. There is no rushing this. Do not be impatient. We got a few tastes of the bread which is the best bread I may have eaten. Ever. Perfectly crispy and salty and fluffy. Amazing. The best.

We decided to eat there because this team of Sammy makers seemed to want the feedback and looked over to see what we thought. We then chatted up the shopkeeper and she asked us questions about our sandwich shops back home and she asked, "But do they have portebelaa cream from the scratch?" Obviously not, we replied. And then she went and made us a little sample of 'the islander'.

I'm only here for a day and I'm going back tmrw when they open to get a few Sammie's for the road as we look the island.

Absolutely the best sandwiches I’ve had on PEI — hands down. As someone with Italian heritage, I’m pretty picky when it comes to sandwiches, and these completely blew me away. I first got to try them on set (I work in film and TV, where we’re lucky to have meals catered by local businesses), and this was easily the best meal I’ve had on set — no contest.

The Roma and Paradise sandwiches were the ones I got to try (wish I could’ve sampled the whole menu!), and they were both phenomenal. Fresh, flavorful, and made with real care.

I’ll definitely be going out of my way to grab these sandwiches again whenever I get the chance. Can’t recommend...

Hands down the best sandwich you’ll ever have! I recently dined at Aldo Renys and had an amazing experience. A delightful Turkish woman ( Im sorry I forgot her name) served us, taking the time to really explain our sandwich since it was our first time trying it. Her kindness and attentiveness made us feel so welcome. Huge shout out to her!
