As a passionate and talented barista, my partner always shows a genuine interest in different brews etc. (stuff I know far less about but I always appreciate scouting out quality spots with him). I ordered a cappuccino and was surprised it had zero froth and literally burnt my mouth when I tasted it. Rarely does my partner take anything back but he insisted he would and politely took it to the front to point out that the drink had zero foam. Apologized to the other table - discounted their food for the “mistake.” Left us sitting for another 15 minutes before somebody came over to inquire what we were doing in the restaurant? Told server we were waiting for our food? New server came back said we lost your order - do you still want food? We said yes. Read moreSerious coffee and roastery. I am very critical when it comes to coffee roasting and espresso extraction. I would say that I most often feel disapointed with coffee shops. Receiver is an exceptional establishment. The flavour profiles of their roasting is a bit on the wild side for my exact preference, but that is just my personal preference. But perhaps the unique profiles is one aspect that makes them a stand out. Let me say this: a trip to the island just to go to receiver would be worth the trip if you are a coffee connaisseur.
