There are things to look for when you go to a Chinese restaurant even in a small town like Charlottetown. Make sure that forks are not on the table. Make sure that chopsticks are on offer. Make sure that the menu does not feature chicken balls front and center.

Finding a restaurant that adheres to the simple principles and smaller towns and cities is not always easy. When you do, be aware that you are likely in for a treat.

The noodle house offers a variety of authentic Sichuan and Cantonese dishes and is sure to impress those from larger cities. We sat down and within minutes were served a constant stream of steaming, delicious and fresh dishes. I would’ve taken pictures but we ate them too fast.

Perhaps more important is that the restaurant was clean, the service wonderfully friendly, and if you have particular preferences for your food they are happy to accommodate.

Food was great and the server was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a mixture of traditional Chinese food for my mother in law, who is Chinese, and western Chinese food for me since I love sweet and sour chicken balls. The seafood noodles were fresh and tasty and we had deep fried squid which was just the perfect combination of crunchy and spicy, although not too hot, just a little bit spicy. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food you get. I also had some chicken fried rice and a few spring rolls which were quite good. Everyone left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied with the food and the service. Our go to for take out. Friendly service and generally good food. However, our last take out order was disappointing. Ordered the steamed dumplings with house made peanut butter and it was awful. Picture steamed dumplings bathing in cheap Bulk Barn natural peanut butter… I was expecting a spicy peanut butter sauce or something of that nature. Not straight up peanut butter. To be avoided.
