Do NOT sleep on the Old Triangle for a good old fashioned Irish pub experience with the cozy Irish draw, a delicious menu, great brews, and awesome service. Old Triangle never fails to fill my belly with good food and my face with a big ol smile to share with the friends who went with me. Great menu with lots to pick from and everything is so delicious and well made! Definitely recommend any of the Burger Love burgers (Ahem pot of gold burger is banginggg!) and the fries are SO GOOD (regular and sweet tater options, both delicious). One of my recent favs is the Mojo Verde summer salad with steak, a huge platter with romaine, basmati rice, crispy chickpeas, grilled veg (peppers, onion, tomato) and steak (or chicken/shrimp) done to your liking with a delicious verde herb salsa over it. The beverage and alcohol menu is always great with local brews and some fantastic wines available. Live music many night, 1/2 price app deals, and service is always so friendly. Old Triangle is definitely a staple spot for the locals

The food was very filling. One entree can fill you to the brim. We made the mistake of ordering appetizers. The food was too salty for me but good. Waitress was very kind and checked on us often. We ordered potato skins which was more nacho form with potato skins and a giant plate full. Then we ordered the steak n steak n colcannon and the Irish stew. The stew came with colcannon and Irish brown bread. I finished everything and am not proud to say that I proceeded to have the worst gas of my life. I think my entire intestine was inflated by the end of the night. My husband loved the food and for the first time in his life could not finish the second steak. I think if I were to go back, I’d have to order something smaller and not be so ambitious haha.

We were in Charlottetown on a Sunday when many of the restaurants are closed, and the menu of this place looked enticing, with lots of pub food and Irish specialties. When we came for dinner at about 5pm there were fiddlers and other musicians sitting around a large table playing wonderful Celtic music. Our server told us this was a jam session that happens every Sunday 3-5. Lots of beers on tap and in the bottle. I had an Irish Stew that was just fantastic flavor served over a mashed potato dish and my wife has a chicken breast over rice that she declared delicious. Price for our two meals with a drink each, tax and tip was $68. Thoroughly enjoyable, and the musicians were an added bonus.

UPDATED REVIEW: We used to come here a few times a month because the food was consistently great, the staff was always great, and the experience was always worth the money. Last year we came and had an awful experience. The experience was so bad we stopped going for a full year. Today we decided to try it again because it was our wedding anniversary and we used to love coming here. My wife and I both ordered the Steak n Steak (two 5 oz steaks) rare with colcannon and added mushrooms. The waters took over 10 minutes to come. When the food came out one was missing mushrooms, it happens no big deal quick fix. Then we cut into the steaks and 3 of the 4 steaks were blue and by blue I mean it was barely even cooked. The other steak was medium well. The kitchen demanded my both of my wife's steaks back and then only gave her one steak. I mentioned for a second time that one of mine was blue too after they came back with only one steak. At this point we are frustrated and said we don't want to wait for more to be cooked and since we clearly aren't eating our full meals because of improper cooking so we asked for fair compensation which we got after some painful arguing but the problem is we literally said we didn't want to wait and then it took 10-15 minutes for the bill to even come. During this entire ordeal the manager just hid and never came out to see us or talk to us or to apologize. Instead our waitress looks like she is basically in tears being forced to do the managers job. Even though we were extremely frustrated we were still polite about it all. Due to this being our second back to back bad experience and the fact the manager hid and did absolutely nothing during this, we won't be back even though this used to be our favorite restaurant. It's really gone downhill and it is sad to see. I'm giving 2 stars because the other food was fine.

INITIAL REVIEW: We come here whenever we want good delicious comfort food. In my opinion, the price is extremely reasonable for the quality and service. The staff is always super friendly and attentive and we have never had a bad meal here. We just came to have a nice birthday dinner for our son with autism and we were sat in one of the confessional booths. Our kid loves eating here and we generally try to come when it isn't busy so there isn't as much sensory stimulation and we have never thought to ask ahead to be sat at one of these booths. It made a huge difference when it got busy. I believe our servers name was James and he was awesome. We just wanted to say thank you to the Old Triangle Charlottetown team for...

Tried emailing management two weeks ago with no response.

We usually go to the old triangle in Halifax; however, I have visited the Charlottetown location many times before, and visited the Charlottetown Old Triangle on May the 13th. It was a busy evening. I have seen the place busier, however, it was a pretty full house. We were there for a graduating students diner. We expected reasonable value pub food with reasonable, OR at least some basic service (as I mentioned, we frequent the Halifax location ((and this is what we usually receive)). What we actually received was not service. The first thing said to the table of eight (ages 21 - 65) "What can I get you to drink", no hello - okay that is fine. The second thing "what can I get you" - great. Then, nothing. Not once were we offered drink refills or additional drinks. Not once did the server ask or check how the food was. We had a overcooked steak at the table and we literally had to go find the server - which, was remade and was even worst than the first - still no assurance or even a "how is the steak/food".

At this point, I went to look for a manager. There was not one on duty, but our server caught wind I was looking for one and ACTUALLY came to the table for the first time. I explained that the lock of service was incredibly disappointing (no drink refills, offers for additional items, etc), not to mention the steak done wrong twice. Being very empathetic, I reassured her it was not an attack on her, it was pretty busy in the restaurant, etc, but overall really the experience was truly unacceptable. She offered to comp the table 25%, but not before getting defensive snapping something along the lines of " Yeah, well everyone else in here is looking for that experience too". ...I sure hope they are - this is a restaurant/ business establishment. What I wanted: ONE check how the food was. ONE offer for drink refill. What I received: The worst dining experience I can recall.

I really have walked in this girl's shoes, I have worked in the restaurant industry for 9 years; as a server, as a food service manager, etc. Her level of unprofessionalism and disrespect had no place in this restaurant or even in the industry.

This was a table where money was not an issue, and truly, the server missed a chance on a large bill and sale for the restaurant. Not to mention providing NO service and a horrible experience.
