Beautiful location, great layout, pretty decor and a cute little shop inside. The service, the food and the prices are extremely disappointing. When we arrived We were not greeted nor told where to sit. We found our table and had to wait over 10 minutes just for someone to come and take our order. My friend and her daughter ordered first and when received their meals there was no cutlery which we also had to search for. My friend's eggs were overcooked. We ordered eggs Benedict...the smallest portion I've ever received, the potatoes undercooked, some of us got greens ( we had 3 eggs benedicts at our table) and I didn't. My husband ordered his eggs well done and received them runny. We asked for new ones to be made. They were given to him and without seeing how they were, the server walked away. Well, the second time they came out runny again. We had to seek out the server, returned them again and were just told "ok" and she walked away. There was no owner nor a Manager to talk to!!! Another server came and started to apologize ( which I appreciated) and then told us about how the restaurant has been having issues with their service and quality of food. During this time the original server came and brought a plate of potatoes and said the eggs were on their way. When we returned the second plate we had told her we don't want another remake. We didn't want anything else so obviously she didn't listen and didnt even care to rectify the problem in any way. Well, after the other server finished telling us how the restaurant has been suffering from the staff and poor quality of food she had our bill delivered. On the bill we received a $3.00 discount on my husband's eggs which he never ate and we were told that the restaurant incurred costs in making our food and we can only receive a discount! We are very understanding people. We understand mistakes and accidents happen. We don't normally complain and never give bad reviews BUT this is too upsetting not to say anything about. We refused to pay. They called the owner and FINALLY the eggs were taken off the bill. Very disappointing, we all left hungry because of the tiny portions and ended up going to Timmies' for a snack and to get hubby his breakfast so that we could finally go on with our day...
Read moreThis was the worst treatment I have ever received from a restaurant. After waiting for an hour and a half for our food and being subjected to the weakest coffee known to man(seriously... it was the colour of tea) my order came out and was wrong. I had asked for eggs poached hard on an eggs benny. They came out soft. I informed the waitress of this and word for word explained that "somedays we can't do hard poached and somedays we can't do soft poached." After this amazing explanation of events I just gave up on communication through our server, scraped my eggs onto my friends plate and ate a dry english muffin with bacon on it. After eating it I was informed upon asking for the benny to be struck from my bill that because I had eaten it I would have to pay but that they would discount the eggs that I didn't eat. She then proceeded to investigate which of my friends ate the eggs so that they could be added to their bill. I told her that was ridiculous and that I wanted to speak to the manager. When I found her she was remarkably rude and informed me because someone ate it it has to be paid for. I asked "wouldn't it just have been thrown out?" to which she responded again "if someone ate it it has to be paid for". I don't know about you but with this kind of miserly behaviour it's not a stretch that those eggs would have wound up on some other customers plate had I sent them back. Either way I told the manager(owner?) I wasn't paying at all for the benny which was $9 at "half price". I would pay for the fruit cup and mimosa and that's it. She very rudely informed me she would take it out of her staff's wages and that was it. WORST RESTAURANT...
Read moreWell...I must decent...yep…2 stars. The omelet that was delivered to me looked like it had fallen on the floor and then was plated by hand….in pieces. 3 generous size brie chunks were just that…chunks…not even slightly melted. A couple tomatoes made into the omelet and some strewn about on the plate and there a few huge mushroom slices thrown in for good measure. I should have taken a picture but my phone was in the car. The sausage was tasty. My wife’s eggs burrito arrived without avocado. When we inquired…the server laughed nervously and said that they were out of avocado. We waited a moment to see if she would offer something as a substitute but she did not…and the full price of the meal was charged. The bread to egg...and salsa ratio was weighted to the bread for sure. Her bacon was also like day old reheated to CRISPY. Coffee was good.
They were also out of other items that I originally wanted to have in my omelet. We were really looking for that local….specialized….something different with a twist. Lower your expectations so you are not disappointed, or you may end up being pleasantly surprised, if they are...
