Customer service reached out to me and The issue was very professionally handled.
Thank you for taking the time to reach out.
My husband and I recently visited with high hopes for a delightful evening, given its amazing sea view . While the ambiance was stunning, our overall experience was overshadowed by a disappointing incident related to the vegan options.
Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the breathtaking sea view that the restaurant offered. The setting was undoubtedly romantic and conducive to a memorable dining experience. Our server, who seemed knowledgeable about beers, was friendly and attentive.
My husband decided to indulge in a lobster roll, while I, being a vegan, asked for the server's recommendation for a suitable plant-based option. To my delight, she suggested a vegan burger, and I eagerly ordered it. However, my excitement quickly waned when the burger arrived topped with dairy cheese. I politely requested the cheese to be removed, but after the first bite, it was evident that the patty contained eggs, making it unsuitable for a vegan diet.
Disappointed and feeling let down, I addressed the issue with the server. She seemed surprised and promised to verify the ingredients. Unfortunately, her confirmation confirmed my suspicions that the patty did, indeed, contain eggs. To my surprise, I was not offered any alternative options despite not having consumed the burger. Instead, the burger remained on the bill, and I was charged for an item I couldn't eat.
Feeling somewhat frustrated, I conveyed my concerns to the staff, emphasizing that I had specifically asked for a vegan option and was recommended the burger in question. However, the response I received was disheartening. The staff's explanation centered on the fact that the ingredient list was available on the menu, which I admittedly hadn't checked. While this may be true, the fault primarily lay with the server, who recommended the burger without thoroughly understanding its contents.
Regrettably, the incident marred an otherwise pleasant dining experience. My husband's lobster roll was enjoyable, and the beer selection was impressive. However, the lack of attentiveness regarding dietary preferences, coupled with the absence of an apology or a gesture to make amends for the mix-up, left us feeling disheartened.
In the end, we opted not to engage in an argument and paid the bill, but the unfortunate experience ensured we won't be returning to this restaurant. It is essential for any establishment, particularly one with such a stunning location, to cater to dietary preferences responsibly and professionally. Our hope is that the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and improves its understanding and accommodation of vegan options...
ย ย ย Read moreGreat location. Deck on water, lots of boats, nice. When we arrived for lunch, we were told the wait was ten minutes (two adults and two children, 4 & 5). Ok, no worries. Ten minutes is doable. We were sat in close to twenty minutes. Our server was friendly. We were able to order for the children right away. Waited longer to order for ourselves. At one point, our server asked us what we had ordered, and we got the feeling that she'd either forgotten to put our order in or it was lost in the kitchen. Children's food (chicken tenders & french fries) came quickly. Our food (lobster & shrimp roll and a club sandwich, both with fries) came forty minutes later. Had I been there with only my daughter, I would have paid for her meal and left after twenty minutes. When I got up from the table, to look for our server and ask about the status of our food, the hostess was available. I asked about our food, and she said (dismissively) it was almost ready, and that they were very busy. They were busy, but it didn't seem like an unmanageable busy to me (I've worked in restaurants and I know busy). There was no apology or anything. I was very disappointed with the response. A different server overhead, and said she'd look into our food. She came to our table to tell us it was coming out soon. Our food finally came out. My lobster and shrimp roll was the worst I've ever had, and the most expensive. There was one chunk of lobster, a few little bits of lobster, slightly undercooked shrimp, chopped onion, in a tiny bit of sauce? My friend's chicken club tasted like the chicken wasn't fresh, the tomato slice was a sad, unripe little slice, and the sauce was flavorless. French fries looked and tasted like they were frozen McCain's fries. So nothing special on the food. We were so hungry, we ate our sandwiches, and left. Our children were getting restless, and we were so disappointed and uncomfortable, we just wanted to get out. When we first sat down, I was thinking how my husband might like to eat here. When we left, I told my friend that I'll take him to the FO'C'SLE Pub instead. Maybe our server was new or in training. It would have been better to have been told this. It, also, would have been good if the server and/or hostess stop by our table two or three times to update us on our food, ask how we were doing and if we needed anything...
ย ย ย Read moreToday I went to the rope loft with my family, collectively we got muscles to start, fish and chips, the seafood linguini, the clubhouse and the lobster poutine. The linguini was cold and the scallops were over cooked like rubber and so were the bits of lobster. The lobster poutine was also cold and the lobster was over cooked. The best I could describe it was eating paper, it almost dried out my mouth chewing it. The club house was small, and it had an entire chicken breast on it which is almost too much chicken to bare, the bread was also hard. The fish and chips were mediocre at best. The muscles were the best part by far and even they were only mediocre as well, they were At least some what warm but a few of them still had dirt in them, the butter served with them tasted funky though. Even the drinks werenโt that fantastic, 3 of us got pop mine was warm and 2 of them were almost like weird tasting water once you got to the bottom of them. The fries are also not home fries they are deep fried greasy frozen fries.
My over all review, prices to portion is way off. Youโre over charged for food that isnโt that great. I donโt recommend going there for food one bit. The view is nice but the food is not worth your time or money Also itโs hard to find parking, I had to park all the way at the end of the road and had to walk down. Luckily it...
