O'Brian's Restaurant & Grill
I just want to say thank you for such a lovely Thanksgiving dinner.
The ambiance was really welcoming and pleasant.
Our server, Jessica, was AMAZING! When first seated we were by the window and it was fairly chilly. She had the temperature increased and it became nice and toasty fairly quickly. I heard other tables comment positively about this as well. Overall she was attentive but not overly so. She even got me the wifi password from the lounge, much appreciated.
The manager also came around to see how everything was, and he was also really friendly and welcoming.
As for the food, it was really the star 🌟, as it should be! All the items are fresh, abundant, changed out often, and made from whole and real food. It had the warm and inviting familiarity of a classic home cooked meal with some appreciated fine touches.
From the salad bar to the hot selections, there was an abundance of variety; so much so I couldn't try it all. Unfortunately I only had room to try the hot apple crisp for dessert at the end of the meal, but there was a wide selection of pastries, cakes, and fresh fruit to sample.
There was no rush for us to leave, despite thr restaurant seemingly being at capacity. Our table of 4 was there 2 hours and felt relaxed and treated as welcomed guests the whole time.
The value is exceptional, considering a burger and fries at most places is $25.
We also found out they have differently themed buffets on both Friday and Saturday evening every week, which we look forward to enjoying very soon.
If you haven't had an opportunity to experience this awesome buffet, there's no time like the present!
If we get word out then we can ensure these buffet offerings become a Leduc staple for a long time to come, as buffets are more rare since covid! Well...
Read moreMy family decided to go to O’Briens for my mother-in-laws birthday and our entire party was very disappointed with the overall quality of the food. There were 5 adults and 4 kids in our party. 3 of the adults have the dinner buffet and not one of them had a good thing to say about the quality of the food. It was either over cooked or it was cold. The other 2 adults ordered off the menu and it wasn’t much better. Both items ordered from the menu included French fries which were over cooked. I personally ordered their brisket sandwich, when it arrived I was taken by surprise as it did not resemble any other brisket sandwich I have ever had and it was not very tasty, basically it was a roast beef sandwich. The other adult in our group ordered the chicken tenders which were alright. I had discussed our displeasure with the manager to which he took 15% off of our bill. I was surprised to see my bill had an additional 18% automatic gratuity on our bill. I understand this is customary with most parties of our size however automatic gratuities do not provide incentive for a person in the service industry to go above and beyond to provide service. I am not disputing the gratuity, what I want to point out is in our opinion the food was subpar for what you paid. I would have enjoyed a meal at any other fast food restaurant much more than I enjoyed this dinner. I highly doubt we will ever return to O’Briens...
Read moreWent for breakfast on a sunday at 1030 and should have known by the amount of people seated, that this was not going to go well.
Our table of 4 ordered the benedict skillet, breakfast meat skillet, an omelet and eggs benedict with a side of bacon. All 4 dishes were room temperature except for the benedict and the benedict skillet, which were so cold, the cheese didnt even try to melt. It felt like the food was premade an hour or so prior, scooped on the plate and fake hollandaise sauce was pulled from the refrigerator and squirted on top. The idea of placing the food on a cold cast iron skillet just added to the disappointing dish. The side of bacon was dry and room temperature, again, like it had been sitting in a pan without heat for far too long
The disappointing part, after sending the 2 cold items back to be remade, was the skillet was merely rearranged and placed under a broiler...Which yes, did bring the surface temperature up, but far cry from serving a fresh hot meal. The benedict again came out like it was made an hour earlier....over done from sitting for too long, room temperature and had that cold hollandaise squirted on top.
Kudos to the server who agreed with my wife on the food quality and removed the benedict from the bill. She is the only reason why this review is receiving a star for the...
