Ordered for pick up through Skip the dishes, I ran out to get it, needed to make 2 stops before arriving for the food (the app said it would take 15-20 mins), I arrived at Denny’s likely around the 45 min mark. Arrived and told the young hostess I was there for a skip pick up order and told her the order number, she went, could not seem to find it, another older lady camcorder to clarify my order number and I could see her flying around the kitchen line trying to find my order, at that point I knew there was a problem. She came back the third time and this time requested to actually see my order, so as I was trying to pull up my order I was thinking out loud and said “oh well I think it was placed over 20 mins ago..” and then she goes “yeah well 20 mins doesn’t mean anything here on a busy day”. I was completely floored by this rude outburst. So I showed her the time stamp and it was actually over 45 mins for this order they cannot even find. So she goes back to the kitchen line and I see one chef go “give me five mins”. The lady comes back and explains quite smugly “oh there was a mix up or something with your order but we are putting a 911 rush on it”, and at that point I clarified that it’s actually been 45 mins already but no order and she just repeated again there was a mix up. So ten mins pass, she comes and I double check my order in front of her, and I bring up the nasty comment she made about 20 mins doesn’t mean anything and she got a little defensive and said “yeah well it’s true it doesn’t matter” and once I called her out and said that’s a really rude way to talk to a customer then she changed her tune. I was not impressed by this attitude towards a customer, at no point was I rude or unreasonable to her. I even said I understand if you’re busy or skip screws up (even though I don’t think this was skips issue I think they missed our order) but that’s no way to talk to me. The service has gone downhill. Seems confusing and chaotic here. Food was ok, one order had bacon instead of sausage as we ordered, but it was ok. As I double checked the order before leaving there was a missing toast, she went and got it, I told her I appreciated the rush none the less but not the rudeness. Very disappointed. Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!!!! Very disappointed in our visit today.... got to the restaurant just before 4 pm... maybe 6 other tables in the restaurant.... Waited forever to be seated... only 1 server on... she was VERY slow and didn't seem to have much enthusiasm for her job... we were given kids menus and no crayons, took forever to get a drink order and our drinks brought... 3 out of 5 in our party ordered pancakes ... when our food was first brought out I had eaten the eggs and sausage. . our server came and asked how the first few bites were (those were good)... but the pancakes were HORRIBLE .... I ordered the 9 grain pancakes (which were their usual pancakes with a handful of flax seeds in them...)... my pancakes were burnt and tasted like they were cooked on a dirty grill... I had 2 bites and pushed my plate aside to the edge of the table... my other 2 sons also commented their pancakes were funny tasting and didn't eat them (one of them was even covered in sauce and sprinkles... that couldn't even hide the terrible taste).... So I put their plates next to mine.... the server NEVER came back to the table for another good 15 minutes... she was no where in sight... finally she came over, apoligized for the pancakes and said she would get the manager... the manager came out closing her phone in hand as she approached our table (IMO, that is just unprofessional, leave your cell phone away when dealing with customers on the floor)... she aplogized and comped my meal and my one sons meal ... still not worth the $38 we paid..... Also, side note, many tables were dirty with plates not even cleared when we came in and those same tables were still dirty when we left, no plates ever cleared... not sure which restaurants have such terrible standards where the service staff can't even check on a table more than once and clear a plate... Read moreI come to Dennys very frequently but usually in the morning it is usually pretty decent in the morning however evenings can be a hit and miss. Tonight I had family down from NS and she wanted Dennys. First we had trouble getting our drinks definitely we are annoyed but whatever. 2 members orders breakfast sandwiches cant remember what they are called but had ham and cheese on it. They were ok not great as they were very thin. We did not complain cause wasn't bad just thin. My daughter ordered Chicken fried chicken and 2 sides were cubed hash browns and Mac n cheese she also asked for brown gravy as she doesn't like the white gravy. We even pointed to the item on the menu. She gets her food and it's 2 chicken strips and scredded has browns. We tell our waitress that it is wrong and again we repeated the correct order. She replies ok I'll fix it this time comes out with some kind of steak we tell her this time we do not want it at all at this point I will go get my daughter a burger at McDonalds. I am calm UNTILL she starts arguing now I am pissed. If you do not know the menu do not have them on the floor alone. It's not fair to the paying customers nor the staff as they get flustered. Anyways they did take whatever she rang in off and gave a 15% discount but seriously it was absolutely 💯 ridiculous. It will probably be a long while before we try it again.
