The food was tasty.(and then I ordered dessert).if some what not my taste, however the service was lacking. I ordered a tea, had to ask for the sugar, was not asked of I wanted cream or milk and ended up stirring my tea with the straw that came in my water. Who serves tea with out a teaspoon? I will call my server inattentive at best, not once did she ask if I was happy with my meal nor did anyone offer to refill my water or my tea pot. As I said the salad I ordered was good for the most part, a little on the small side and the chicken breast was best described as factory. The depth of flavors could have been better. Then there was dessert, I ordered the creme Brule cheese cake (not listed on the menu). It was definitely factory made, it was gooy with a non-descript crust and a very mild brown sugar flavor but the plating was...ridiculous a shmeer of smucker's Carmel suace on the plate with analternating chucks of orange complete with seeds and blobs of some kind of berry compote spread out around the out side. In hindsight the plating may have beena distraction from the underwhelming texture and flavor. I found the dinner room cold and very very noisy for such a small room. There is much room and need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I dropped in late without a reservation and very hungry. Nice place, lots of people, but not full. We had a choice of tables and were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and asked which item(s) on the menu would take the least amount of time. We were assured baked brie and lettuce wraps would take around 15 minutes. We got our drinks, but decided to leave after about 40 minutes, not having received a crumb of food. Now we were even hungrier and also displeased at having been lied to. The hostess who processed our credit card was obstreperous, and informed us rudely that the restaurant was very busy. She gave the impression we should feel fortunate to have been there. I responded with rudeness in kind, recommending that customers not be seated, asked what they'd like to eat, and told their food would arrive in a reasonable timeframe when the restaurant couldn't do so, allowing customers to choose to stay or leave. Lovely place, but the hostess we encountered was mean-spirited and should not be dealing with the public. The experience left the impression that in spite of building a big restaurant and dressing it up real purty, Lloydminster is a small hick town with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit from Dec 2023 Just within the past year the level of service has gone down significantly. It took almost 5 minutes for the hostess to even show up, and just as long to be seated. Table service was OK but nothing to call home about. No visit from the owner anymore. Food is covered in oil now too. For some reason the place was still packed on a Wednesday night - perhaps this is still the best place in Lloyd?
I was very impressed with the Rock Creek Tap an Grill. Excellent steak and some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. They even had my favorite beer which was surprising for a restaurant in a town this size.
The owner visited my table and was very kind and professional, even explaining that they have plugins underneath every table since I was reading on my kindle and he thought I would need to plug it in! Very thoughtful detail for people who travel and are looking for a great place to eat, drink, and relax. Also pay attention to the artwork on the walls, very neat story behind it all.
Will definitely be going here again for my next trip to...
