I'm not usually the type to write online reviews, but I have been a loyal J's patron for alot of years, far prior to the new location. As i will admit the prices are on the high side quality service and large portions always made me happy to spend the bucks. It pains me to say my last two trips to J's have been sub par at best. the latest was just two days ago. I placed my order online for in store pick up. The order was not ready when my girlfriend arrived to pick up, no big deal as it can be busy. the new girl working totally messed up the order but as we live 30 mins west of town we had no idea until we got home. My donair was ok but i always ask for light on the tzatziki sauce as i hate an over saucy donair. When i opened mine there was so much sauce that the paper wrapping was saturated and i had to eat a soggy donair, not up to par at all, the second donair was ordered with sauce on the side, also was saturated in sauce and very soggy. although the sauce on the side was in the bag. I had also ordered a donair freis supreme with added olives and onions, when i opened it i had cold fries with olives and onions and nothing else, who wants that. No meat, no cheese, The fries i ordered to go along with second donair seemed good, however an order that used to almost overflow out of the take out container barely made it to half full. Very disappointing, as stated above I've always been happy to pay the prices at J's because the quality and portions were well worth it. This was an extremely disappointing trip to J's for the second time in a row. I don't know if it is a new staffing issue but please don't ruin my favorite donair shop with lack luster soggy donairs and overpriced tiny portions. Bring back the J's way. Thats what made it so great. Was in touch with owner, he gave a full refund for our order and offered his contact info to make sure the next order is up to standards. I upped the star rating because he didnt even hesitate to make things right. that is the service that has kept me a J's customer for all these years. Thanks for caring enough to make it right.

First time eating a donair outside of Edmonton. Pushed my lunch back to the end of the day and had to get a donair right away. I couldn't wait till I was back in Edmonton. J's was about 2 mins away and had good reviews. Shop is very clean and presentable, lone staff member was very friendly and she answered all my questions and built a well crafted donair. Price was fair, the regular donair was slightly lower than of a jumbo in Edmonton and was bigger than most jumbos in Edmonton. I noticed that my donair meat was already cut and stored in a warming tray and was steamed before being built. Not common but I've had decent steamed donairs before but prefer a quick fry on a flat grill. Donair flavour was good and spicy, sweet sauce was generous and tasty. Only other sauce option was tzatziki. Again, built well and generously packed with long strips of meat. The overall experience was really good but I have to say that something needs to be done about the overcooking of the donair meat on the rotisserie spit. The meat was dry as shoe leather, lost most of its beautiful brown complexion and obviously overcooked. No amount of steaming could have saved this poor donair. Was only able to handle about half of this and tossed the rest. Sure this may have been an off day considering the mainly great reviews, I'm willing to try this place out again if I'm in the area.

Got a regular donair 2 person combo. Dined in. Place was clean. Donair was good, though should have asked for less sweet sauce as I am not a donair pro and it was messy to eat. Just a random drive by eating.

Too expensive, charges 150 for cheese, extra 150 for fries instead of chips in the combo, 175 for a small dish of sweet sauce to dip my fries into. 15 bucks for a combo that's more than most, small portion of fries too btw.

As far as the donair it was ok, but no pickled turnip or pink pickles , no garlic sauce, I did like that they streamed netflix while I ate tho.

Would not recommend unless everywhere else is closed.Girl at counter was very pushy and actually jokes that I was cheap when I said I didnt want cheese, then laughed in my face when I explained that I have freys syndrome and require more napkins as I sweat while I eat.

Restaurant was nice and clean and service was fast so 2 stars for a meh donair, netflix and...
