First off their "Fresh" Turkey is FROZEN. I called to inquire to determine if perhaps we ordered wrong and it was supposed to be a frozen bird. The supervisor told me they do a coating or something to keep it fresh, but it didn't make sense. I continued to respectfully ask questions and inquire to why the gizzard bag inside was also frozen solid.
The supervisor went onto say that it wasn't frozen when she gave it to us and said I don't know how your bird was frozen but it wasn't frozen when I gave it to you. We picked up the bird early to brine and had it on the counter for probably an hour at the point I noticed it was frozen.
The supervisor then repeat it's frozen and then hung up. I called back and asked for the owners number as I was not impressed with being hung up. I never once raised my voice or swore or anything else that would be considered disrespectful. She went onto somewhat apologize for hanging up saying that no-one was saying anything on the other line and then said she said hello before hanging up.. which was not the case.
A sincere apology would of been adequate, lying to me and then transferring me to a guy there who went on to tell me we were all standing here and heard her say hello, which they didn't because there wasn't enough time from when she said the bird was not frozen to the time it hung up (it was immediately) and I could still hear the hanging up of a land-line. He wouldn't give me the owners name or number to discuss.
I understand that it's the long-weekend, they are super busy and people are people. The way in which I was treated by both the male and female supervisor was unacceptable in my opinion. There was no accountability for either the bird or how I was treated, implying the customer is lying or treating me I couldn't possibly be telling the truth is appalling.
I wanted to wait until I talked to the owner before posting this, however I was not...
Read moreA big warning for hunters bringing game to this place. Make sure you have everything in order down to the last minor detail before bringing any wild meat to this jerk (and even then its risky). I am talking minor indiscretions. If you happen to arrive here and anything is off (according to them), then, rather then sorting it out with you, they will immediately (in their own interests) call the fish cops. What you thought was a minor issue is now a full blown fish cop investigation, which even if you are found to be nothing wrong is going to cost you money (they fine you at the very least, no matter what happens). So yeah, dealing with this guy turned out to be a nightmare, even though I had previously called, told them exactly the situation, and was told on the phone it was fine. Upon arrival the fish cops were called. So my advice in this regard is not to risk dealing with this p%^ck and butcher the animal yourself. Its not hard, watch a youtube video and then later on take bulk meat to another butcher to have sausages made up.
Finally, in the end the amount of meat we got back from these people was a joke. Another reason to do it yourself or take it to a butcher that can be trusted. You will end up with double the amount of meat you get from this guy, while also saving yourself a fortune, and also not having to worry about whether dealing with this guy is gonna turn you into a suspect in an investigation. The money is defiantly not worth it. In fact, in hindsight I would've paid money not to have dealt with this a#$h^le.
I'd give this guy negative stars if I could. If you are a hunter avoid them...
Read moreWe recently got a cow cut and wrapped from them. We booked it back in March and called to confirm about a month and a half before we where suppose to take it in and they had no record of it. So they booked it in then we called a few days before it was suppose to go in and had no record of it again. I was extremely frustrated at this point we called other place and of course they where all booked up. We ended up getting it done there. However when I called to let them know what I wanted done with it they seemed extremely confused. At this point I am wondering if we are even going to get the right animal back. Anyway I went in to pick it up just before Christmas it was -33 plus the wind was blowing so with the windchill it felt like -45. I was by myself and the said here you go you can load it by your self. They couldn't even ha e it in boxes so I opened the door and starting loading the boxes I brought with me. After about 5 minutes a guy comes over and said I am gonna push this outside for you and close the door its cold out. Ya you think. So here I am standing outside loading 610 lbs of meat into boxes into my truck. I will never go back. Rude staff, not helpful. We have another cow booked in for next year going somewhere else. Never again would not recommend. Thanks for nothing...
