Shenanigans Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Clareview

I have been coming here for 15 odd years give or take, so I would consider myself a regular. I have watched many a UFC fight and hockey game at this place, and spent thousands of dollars over the course of time.

I decided to watch the Oilers play Florida (well change that to they showed up but really didn't play) and I literally hadn't eaten all day and was famished. My plan was to order a burger that was on special, and then when my girlfriend showed up we would both order the "Game Day Steak" (As mentioned I was very hungry)

The waitress took my order at 6:00 pm, and my plan was to finish the burger before my girl arrived, and then each enjoy a steak together. After approx 1/2 an hour I asked my waitress what was taking so long just to cook a burger and she assured me it was almost done. While all this was going on I noticed several people who had ordered after me were already finishing their meals. At this point I called over the manager Britney whom I have known on a first name basis for a decade and a half, she went into the kitchen and came out about 15 minutes later with my meal. By this time my girl had already arrived and was hungry herself, and understandably wanted her steak. When I turned to Britney and proclaimed my disappointment at it taking a good hour to finally bring me a single burger , she simply shrugged her shoulders and said it hadn't really taken that long. No apology nor willingness to do anything about it whatsoever, she just simply put the plate down and walked away. Now my girlfriend had ordered her steak and waited almost an hour as well. I caught Britney's attention and asked her if when I ordered another burger (I was still quite hungry after the first one) if she could add another patty to compensate me for the ridiculous wait on the first one as well as the cold steak my girl received, she just smiled and said "Sorry there is nothing I can do"

15 years and thousands of dollars spent here and this is what you get from Shenanigans..They have lost two loyal customers over very poor service and a complete unwillingness to make amends in any way. Not only will I never be back, I will also go out of my way to tell anybody and everybody I know both personally and on social media to never go to this place. By the way for those that may think I was some sort of troublemaker in the past and my business was not wanted, I don't drink or start trouble and I have always tipped 30-40 percent. So this is what you can expect from the manager Britney and Shenanigans, extremely poor judgement, management, and class..what a joke..nuff said

Just an added footnote, I caught a glimpse of the cook who prepared our meals after the fact..Had I known she was cooking our food ahead of time, I would have never ordered in the first place. She looked like an unwashed homeless person who was still wearing the same clothes from last...

A DISAPPOINTED AND UNSANITARY, Ugh!

I’ve been a regular customer since 2017 and usually I tip this bar, however they are just a disappointment now who are disgusting and unsanitary, like, Ew!

This bar was one of my favourites because I thought the waitresses and bartenders were amazing at the time when I went there, however after my experience two days and what I witnessed, I will never be step foot into this bar ever again, Nope!

The bartender/ waitress that was serving me and my friends is unbelievable and just lazy, clearly because she thinks I am an idiot but, she’s the one who’s an idiot.

You see this lady decided to make me a new drink in the same cup that I used when I walked into the bar, earlier that night, Although this make me feel uncomfortable and it was unsafe because this can be dangerous, “THE FACT THAT I FINISHED MY FIRST DRINK AND LEFT IT ON THE COUNTERTOP TO GO “ for smoke outside but, all means a random stranger could’ve spiked my empty cup and obviously, it’s not the bar’s responsibility to watch your drinks for you, “So why did this lady use the same cup that I used earlier to make me a new drink”?

Oh, I was so upset that this happened and when I confronted her about the situation while she was making my new drink in the same “ Cup”, she had the audacity to tell me, What’s the matter, It’s your cup and it’s not like anybody else used it. Like wow, What a great way to speak to your customer , hey!

Then again, I re-confronted her again and explained the situation then she told me something completely different that wasn’t my problem to begin with but, she said; that she’s had customers in the past, who got mad at her for wasting there drinks when there was still a little bit of alcohol in it, okay and ? That doesn’t mean, Every customer is the same, Jeez! Then after that she said; that she’s learned from her past mistakes when so called; customers got mad at her and she can’t throw out their drinks when there’s a little of alcohol in there, so she just refills the same cups with alcohol that they used beforehand, like gross!

Where’s the safety and sanity in this bar? This bar needs to be recused with better safety measures and safety...

The only thing consistent about this place is inconsistency...you are truly rolling the dice each time you go.

Almost impossible to rate across the board. Have had about a dozen experiences here ranging from 0-3.5 stars in each category.

They play trivia on Thursdays. Have seen trivia night prizes randomly ranging from a few sample mini bottles of booze & a shot glass, $20 - 50 gift certificates (random value, depending on the week, with only 1 month expiry, btw), to Oilers tix the owners obviously couldn't use. If you can hear the music rounds over the shouty patrons, you are within 3 feet of the speakers.

Have had food ranging from tasty to inedible, (ie. Weirdly spiced burger patties, and off-white celery stick...), and value for dollar is not great (ie: If you order sparsely filled taco special, they charge extra for any salsa/sour cream, and free refills on pop are always capped at ONE.).

Service ranges from good to borderline ignored, and some servers flop down for a visit at friends' tables. Others are quite apologetic for the failings of the rest of the experience, and do their best to make up for it.

I forgot to mention the wafting aroma of weed coming in from the front door smoking section 2 feet from the entrance, and the overly loud vulgar drunks which make conversation impossible.

Perfect place to bring a date you never want to see again.

Don't like gambling with my entertainment/meal dollars, so likely won't be back unless I am desperate...no longer worth the rising risk. There are more consistent places to eat, enjoy ambience and good conversation, play trivia, and maybe earn prizes worth something on...
