A&W Canada — Restaurant in Clarington

I'm a little late writing this review but felt that I needed to because it was well deserved. We went to this location back on February 29, it was in the very early morning around 4:30 am, and we were looking for somewhere that still served burgers and not breakfast as we didn't feel like that as we had been up all night working. Luckily A&W has all day breakfast and dinner which is something we learned that day. I don't have a lot of money and we were trying to use the coupons in the app to make the food cheaper but it wasn't working for us. The lovely young lady who was working used the app on her own phone to help us out with the coupons which she absolutely didn't have to do. Not only that, but the food itself was completely fantastic, lots of toppings on everything we got (which was teen burgers and poutines). We had even asked for a little more gravy than usual and they made sure we were swimming in it. The customer service and food was above and beyond what was expected. Keep up the great work! UPDATE: I recently went to this location again, which doesn't happen often because we live an hour ish away, however since we had such a positive experience the first time we figured we would go here again. Big mistake. It's unfortunate, but I'm downgrading my 5 star review to a 3 star. I would make it a 1 star review but it's unfair to the people who served me the first time. This time the lady when I visited during late dinner hours was rude and not helpful. I had ordered through the app to use the coupons, and then we stopped on our way home to pick up the food (so any other time I have used an app to order (fast food only) they make the food when I get there, including this place) but this time they had it made before I got there. Unfortunately, the one burger was not made properly (I have allergies) and I had asked them to put seasoning on the fries. The lady who was working just argued with me saying no I'm not doing that, and wouldn't accommodate anything. She raised her voice to me through the speaker, and just kept repeating the words "no, not doing that" and instead of fixing one out of the three burgers that I ordered and sprinkle some seasoning on the fries or put some seasoning in a little cup to add to the fries later, she threw everything in the garbage and I got a refund. I drove back to Oshawa to the A&W there, told them what happened, not only did they punch in the coupon manually as it was already used at the other A&W, they did everything properly and gave me extra containers of seasoning. I'm sorry to the girl who served me the first time to downgrade the stars, but it had to be done. We now will not be returning to this A&W and will drive the extra distance to the other location. They did not keep up...

SK's management team is very good! The crew is very fast at preparing food! The teen burger and others are now my favorite fast food burger by far! The flavor is traditional with quality ingredients and always fresh ! And even better A& W root beer is obviously available here which happens to be the best root beer in my opinion. The fries are also good. The added benefit to this location is that it is in the same lot as a gas station with quick access to east and westbound 401.

For great burgers, excellent service by the entire staff, fast service, and convenience, this is the place! And added benefit is that if you use the A& W app, they often run $2 burgers which comes to $2.10 taxes in CDN ! Atmosphere minus 1 star because the restaurant is attached inside to a gas station. There is seating available inside.

I recommend this restaurant as a top fast food...

Terrible customer service! This place will be getting reported to corporate for slacking and refusing to serve customers during advertised business hours.

They say they are open 24 hours but that is a myth. They purposely shut down to clean late morning knowing that people in a rush to get to work and have to get breakfast, and they refuse to serve anyone during that time.

Last week I stopped at the drive-thru at 4:30am and was told they are closed for cleaning and to come back at 5am. I didn't wait and took my business elsewhere.

So this week I came back, this time after 5am and guess what?! Still closed for cleaning! Needless to say, I didn't get a breakfast before work. I couldn't wait around until they decided to open (they had no idea when they're opening) so I left hungry.

I will no longer be doing...
