Kelseys Original Roadhouse — Restaurant in Clarington

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kelseys in Bowmanville, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This review is long (and overdue), but I couldn't help but share my wonderful experience at this restaurant.

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant had a trendy yet cozy ambiance, making it the perfect place for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout my visit, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch.

Now, let me take a moment to commend one particular staff member, Katelynn. She truly made our visit memorable with her exceptional service and delightful personality. Katelynn went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic time at Kelseys. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a genuine passion for her job. Her cheery demeanor and professionalism were truly commendable.

Moving on to the highlight of the evening—the food! Kelseys impressed me with their diverse menu options, catering to various tastes and preferences. The dishes we ordered were not only visually appealing but also incredibly delicious. From the juicy burgers to the flavorful salads, everything was prepared with great care and attention to detail.

Went in for dinner tonight with my buddy, we ordered a cocktail, an appy and a sterloin each. The service: waitress was very nice, seated up right away in a more private area atmosphere very pleasant on the eyes. The drinks were pretty good can’t complain. The cajun shrimp app was trash 8 pieces of shrimp and 80% breading and shrivled onions for 16.99! The 1/2 pound chicken bites were mid were around 12.99 no name chicken nugs better tbh. We both got the classic sterloin steak was cooked perfect. He got rice i got the loaded potato both were good but the cheese sauce on the potato was gross and watery. The steaks said comes with veggies but only came with a veggie broccoli not seasoned or anything at 27.99$ total bill came too 72$ after tip. His was 62$ after tip. Worst part was theirs signs posted everywhere half priced drinks and apps after 8pm but we were charged full price for all those. Wouldnt reccomend this place for food but drinks are pretty good.

Edit 2 months later: last time i went the food was a bit rough to say the least. But this time i went with the same person as last time he got the quesadilla and blue lagoon i got the new mediterranean salmon with a roadhouse caesar. The quesas were juicy well seasoned and tasty. But the salmon…. Was too die for!! Nice charred skin but soft inside with a delicious lime cremla sauce i think it was and rice and fresh veggies this time! And to top it off the caesar was spicy and delicious. Staff was great like always. Bill came to about 70-80 between us i used a 40 gift cert the manager gave me for last time so was around 40-45 after tip. Great experiance this time will be back forsure. Ps: first review was from night time and second from lunch time.

Edit 3. Just went the next day after review 2 and it was pretty miss again… server was sweet got us seated and drinks pretty quick. We ordered 2 bacon burger one with poutine, and a sterloin with loaded fries. Both burgers cooked perfect same with steak. All fries asked well done and crispy, the plain fries were but the poutine and loaded fries were soggy almost raw the poutine upcharge was removed which was nice but the worst thing this time was asked for bill at 1pm got bill at 1:14pm….or the 3 hairs...

Today I had the worst experience that I've ever had at any restaurant, at Kelseys in Bowmanville! My family and I (which included my two young children) reached around 3:55pm to celebrate my brother's birthday. The waitress took our drinks order and walked off, before we could tell her we wanted to order our food as well, as we were just ordering the wings special. We left it alone because we knew she would have taken our food order when she brought the drinks. However, she brought the drinks and said give her a moment, she'll be right back. However again, she attended to many other persons before coming back to take our order. After taking our order, instead of putting our order in, she proceeded to take another table's order. Time went by and the other table got their food and we were still waiting. By this time about 4 other groups were seating and you guessed it! They were all served before us! I complained to manager who said, he'd go check to see if our food was being prepared now and have it sent out. We waited and another table's food was brought out and at that time we had enough! It was only at that time which was now 5pm, when we got up to leave and another waitress came out with part of our order! We also was the only black people there and I can't help but feel that it had something to do with how we were treated! I would NEVER support this establishment again!...
