I friend and I went out to dinner on a Friday evening around 6pm (just slightly ahead of most dinner rushes) with my two children for my birthday. Our server greated us, and was very friendly, but seated us at a table that had not yet been cleaned. That wasn't a big deal. Utensils were delivered, but the table was not wiped, or disinfected. Still not an issue really, and I did it myself. The waiter brought our drinks, and sent our orders , and I got my own soya sauce from another table. Minutes ticked by, and the restaurant became busy... and we waited. Some of our dishes came, but our dragon roll never showed up. Placed another order because the food seemed to be taking a really long time. Food came out sporadically but some rolls were still not coming. Then I noticed other tables getting items we had ordered. More staff were now working, and seemed very confused about where orders should be delivered. We got frustrated (as I had kids under 10 and were very impatient) and ordered our dessert . That took over 10 minutes to get to the table. By that point our table had been cleared by the head manager (or owner as she seemed important),and then I paid the bill and left the tip. Then a manager came to the table with a beef sashimi dish and asked me three times if I had ordered the dish. I repeatedly told her no, and then asked her if I had ordered the dish (which I didn't) then bringing it to the table after I had paid and had dessert, and no cutlery to eat it was very inappropriate. She looked annoyed, and huffed off. Then I went to share my friends fried bananas, and pulled an extremely long curly hair from the plate (none of us had blond curly hair). At that point, I was so frustrated with the service and our lack of food, I just got up and left. As a person who works in the service industry (for over 20 years), I can be more than accommodating but this was terrible. Inexperienced wait staff, a rude manager, and terrible kitchen timing. I will not be spending my money here unfortunately. Which is a shame because I really tried to like it. I will definitely be giving the other sushi restaurant in town...
Read moreWent there around 2 weeks ago for dinner. All I can say is the management needs replacing before I will ever return to this location, possibly the entire chain. The manager treats her job like a high-school prom dance, she was trailing around other employees, talking to them about non-work related subjects, telling them to do several things at once which I found incredibly unreasonable for someone who seemed to be doing nothing at all other than gossiping, she was making inappropriate jokes about food and people, she was taking her hair down behind the bar and she was getting in employees ways making it difficult for MY server to bring me my cheque and most (if not all) of them looked as best to be described as tortured by this. Upon further discovery, she had her sleeves of a shirt that was wrinkled and stained rolled up to show off the dark pink scars and fresh cuts all over her wrists, I noticed this while receiving a refill, while my server was cleaning a table. (I personally would rather have seen her again, she was very bubbly and kind) I have had problems with self harm in the past and to see such a deep rooted problem still happening really put me into a dark mood the rest of the day. Seriously? You couldnt even try to cover it up? The owner obviously wants her or his business to fail, the management is 0/10, the worst face I've ever seen a company put out to represent them. Her hair looked as if it had not been washed in months, she didn't put any visible effort into her physical appearance what so ever, and she seemed to be the reason this place has such a horrible atmosphere/ morale problem. I truly feel bad for the rest of your employees for having to put up with you, the owners, choice to keep someone so incompetent and unfit. She's causing severe problems for the rest of the staff and if a customer can see it I'm quite sure your staff is keen on the same. Truly hope they've changed her since then, everything else about this place was great my servers were great other than when they were dealing with the manager, it looked like they had to babysit her in-between...
Read moreThe 1 star is for the unwelcoming and terrible service by the waitresses one named Tiffany and another young lady. Let me start off by saying this was mine and my girlfriend (who is a young Black Woman) second time going, why you ask? It all started when we went in December 2017 (now I am not sure if it was the same staff but it was the same experience) for our first time and we were spending time with my girlfriends family and the waitresses there did NOT greet us did not check in on us they would check the ipad go get the food and just slide it on the table and mid way they sent over the waitress who was a young Black Woman...?
Fast forward to April 11, 2019. My girlfriend and I debated whether to go back or not because of our experience the first time and well we were right. We walked in the waitress walked towards I said "Hi how are you?" she just nodded her head I said "We have reservations for a booth" and she pointed to a table, I said no we reserved a booth? She did not seem too happy to have to clean a booth, she sat us down with the ipad and left, mind you the ipad was not set up for us to order we waited about 7 mins for the waiter (Christian, who had manners, who actually acknowledged us, and who had great customer service) to come by and set it up. We were sitting in the booth next to the door and we noticed when families or white folks walked in the waitresses had smiles on their faces and would say "Hiii how are you, how many?" we noticed multiple time the waitresses would walk right by us when we had dishes on the side and go to the booth behind or the last one, or how they constantly checked on the other tables and never check on us unless we got their attention. The only time the waitresses actually stood at our table is when we were PAYING, these two experiences over a year and a bit apart just shows that the culture and environment is unwelcoming and...
