I pre-ordered a specialty order cake online from the Stayner store. Someone called me the day before to confirm the decoration I had requested and made it sound as though she was taking pride in the work being done.
I brought the cake home on the Saturday which is the day we were celebrating my sons 3rd birthday. I wasn't impressed with the decorating being sloppy but then even less impressed when we cut open the cake, to discover the whole bottom half of the cake was not there.
While we had guests waiting for the cake, I took the cake straight back to the store to speak to a manager and was told none were on duty that day. My number and name were taken for one to contact me and I was offered a refund, but since I needed a cake, they were only willing to give half off of one of their ready made cakes in the fridge. Again not impressed because my son was excited for his "sonic" cake and at this point, I should not have had to pay for anything.
I went in after over a week of not hearing from a manager, left my information again, and while the cash worker was great to deal with, the manager called me shortly after, and she was not as pleasant.
She insists that everything was resolved and that no Diary Queen can offer gift certificates or free cakes, and when I mentioned that it's been done before at another location and I currently have one from another location from an order last year, she claims she has no idea how they can do that. I told her it's because they value their customers and want the to come back so they are going to do whatever it takes to fix their mistakes.
She kept interrupting me while I was talking and ended up hanging up on me so here I am, putting it out there that they are a horrible place to deal with and I will be contacting Dairy Queen directly to...

I asked for a Misty slushy and I always get the blue raspberry and carry they told me they could not do it! I was like what!!? When the heck did that become a thing.. so then I was like fine I donāt want to buy the slushy they only handed me the chicken dinners boxes no dips and no drinks and I paid almost $40.. while I was there trying to get all my stuff they messed up the order bad and the ladyās next to me and some other lady that was eating said her meal is completely messed up and to fix it.. the lady next to me had two kids and they messed up her kids meals she ordered chicken and paid for them and got burgers and the Dq would not fix it for her.. we are locals and that was the worst experience I have dealt with and we enjoyed coming here I will now be bringing my money elsewhere! I explained this to the attendant when I arrived, and even showed him that the coupon was no longer available, as if it had already been applied. He was less than helpful, saying there was nothing he could do since I had already paid, and to contact customer service. He then told me they had no cake specialist available to write a note on the birthday cake. I explained that was the whole point of getting the cake. He said I could write the message myself, which I did. I contacted āfan relationsā and received a generic/robotic response, which I asked for a follow up and never received. I filled out the survey sent to me and asked for a follow up, which never happened. When a friend went to DQ recently I was reminded to follow up one last time. I spent 20 minutes on the phone while the representative tried to find my emailed messages, but couldnāt locate them. She asked for the restaurant to follow up with me. I received a phone call today, and was offered $5 off or 10% off my next order to āmake it rightā, and to tell the representatives at the cash to call the manager to have it applied should it become an issue.
