Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — Restaurant in Cobourg

Called the day before to place order to pick up in the morning. They took the order said, no problem it will be ready for 9AM. I showed up at 8:50AM. Door was locked, even though they open at 8. Knocked on door, no one answered. I could see other customers standing inside waiting. I knocked again and continued waiting. Stood outside for 10 minutes before one of the other customers left with their food and went in behind him. I could see my order with my name on it sitting on a table right inside the door. Figured I'd be in and out quick. I was wrong. Stood inside for another 10 minutes before they even acknowledged I was there. I said "excuse me" multiple times, I was either ignored or told "1 minute". I heard a knock at the door so I let that person in while I was waiting to be acknowledged. It was one of the delivery service people and she walked right up and said "excuse me", the waitress must of recognized her or something but she dropped what she was doing and came right over. I interrupted them and asked to pay for my meal since it was sitting ready to go, so that I could leave. Not sure what makes the food delivery people have priority over a paying customer standing there waiting. Over all it took me 25 minutes to pick up and pay for an order that was sitting there ready to go. Completely unexceptable. By the time I got home everything was cold and needed to be reheated. What a great place. Went out for a morning ride from Toronto was looking for a breakfast place just past 11am on a Sunday. Googled this location as we was simply across the street in disappointment that A&W stopped serving breakfast 3 minutes after 11am. Seems to be one of those rules that their cash register doesn't allow them to sell eggs and bacon without it being in a bun kinda deal. Anyways their loss cause we headed over to Stacked and wow I was thoroughly impressed with both service and prices !!! Love them prices... if they could ad a little seasoning to the potatoes that would be king of breakfast!! But still very pleased with both service and food. The entire placed was well ran and always had coffee in our cups. The staff are super friendly and looked to be having a good and efficient time so that's great. I'll be back for sure ! The plates many people showcased are fantastic and very well represented in their menu so good on them for that.. I learned that there is also a location in Kingston. (packed in the morning) crystal made sure the food was okay and all.. i told her that day, strawberries served were shy of being sweet/ripe, but that's not going to affect the 5-star experience! thanks Stacked (and Crystal!) until next time! (had make your own omelette, partner had the avocado-benedict thing) the wrap with nutella and bananas in it had strawberries on top (with cream)

visit: feb 2, 2024 our server was awesome! the food was so-so this time around, perhaps because i didn't have what i liked the last time.. i had the hash, note to self, i do not like it, despite having mushrooms. omelette was great the last time i went.. 5 stars still, since the service, quality of food, consistently good! like better than good, great! omelette must try! 😀
