Golden Flower — Restaurant in Cochrane

The food is absolutely gross. I decided to eat there because it seemed like the healthiest option nearby, but boy I was wrong. The meat (both chicken and beef) is highly processed, which compromises the quality of the food. The chicken soup was literally 3 poor pieces of chicken, with rice and a dirty broth that looked right out of a washroom. The food was extremely greasy, they sauteed their meat in what tasted (and looked) like poutine gravy. I ate about 1/3 of what I ordered and threw the rest in the trash. I was left with an aftertaste of greasy food cooked in overused cooking oil. I never write negative reviews for restaurants; my first job as a teenager was at my dad's restaurant and I understand how hard it is to make a living in this industry, but this restaurant’s food was absolutely disgusting. As I walked into the restaurant to order a take out dish, The lady at the cash and taking and handing out orders was already in an unpleasant mood. Not sure if this was her usual character, since it was my fist time. First time or not, you don't act like this ( mean, sour faced, uncooperative). Certainly didn't help the restaurant's image. When I picked up my dish, I noticed it did not come with any cutlery or napkins. Who eats those fortune cookies anyway. When i see them it doesn't give me confidence in the disk. The food tasted awful, overcooked cheap rice, no flavour (spices, herbs or freshness). The buffet dinner was great, but if you see a crowd maybe go somewhere else. We waited over 10 minutes while two staff members struggled to correct a single patrons transaction as more people lined up to pay their cheques and more came in behind us - we were finally waved to a table. Had their been signage to seat ourselves we would have. The place was packed so it must be good, but underequipped for a rush, at times they ran out of every item in the buffet, plates, forks, and cups.
