Asian Noodle House — Restaurant in Colwood

I've been trying to stay on track—eating well, working out, and avoiding drinks. So, I decided to treat myself and ordered a bunch of stuff: ginger beef, broccoli and beef, tofu with mixed veggies, and some wings. I was really looking forward to that crispy ginger beef, but honestly, it turned out to be the worst thing I've ever tasted. I'm not kidding, it was just gross.

Luckily, the broccoli and beef dish was pretty good. On the other hand, the wings were small, dry, and barely had any flavor—it's like a 2 out of 10 situation. Sadly, this isn't the first time we've been let down by the Asian Noodle House. I’ve eaten from here 4 times now. The first 3 were excellent. The other day I ordered the lunch special - spicy ginger fried chicken- and it was delicious!! Thinly sliced chicken with a light crispy coating made to order with just the right amount of spice. Delivery tonight was another story. I ordered the same spicy ginger fried chicken and was given the standard deep fried garbage one would expect at a cheap buffet table- I was very disappointed that the food changed so drastically depending whether I ate in or ordered out. Food is fantastic; this is our go to place for Chinese food on the Island. Besides the recently closed Dragon Gate (still really sad that the staple of Oak Bay is no more), the other restaurants fail in comparison. However; my reason for not giving a full 5 stars is the wait times. And whatever times you are given; add an additional 25-50% of that time. This includes pick-up as well as delivery. As some have said; I wish they would give honest wait times. Clearly if this is constantly happening, they're aware of the actual time it takes for the food to be prepared.
