Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'll try again š the patio is amazing. It was not busy. Sunny day nice shade. Some partiers some couples. I had walked from the Royal Bay beach after missing the bus and happy to find the Roseš¹ Service started strong. After ordering a drink and I wanted to wait to order food I was told just "shout out at any of us when you're ready." Service was happening around me but no one made it to my table for some time and I was skipped for happy hour last call. I was on my own and really had hoped to have a more positive Canada Day Experience. The server came to me and said I was told that you were drinking wine and chilling out. I'll let her know about that I would like another one and I won't be ordering. I ordered the salmon my bill and a take out box...hey I didn't know when anyone was going to visit my table again. Then the server after I had a few bites ready to take my payment. It was not the best first time experience. I felt marginalized. A bright moment was had when a friendly face appeared to talk down my umbrella. He took time to acknowledge me and say a few words which I appreciated. Sadly as I was packing up my dinner I noticed a hair in my food ...not mine. I still took the box ...worried about leaving it on the table like some kind of good. (The book I picked up at a little free library on my 4km...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been coming to the Country Rose since 2000. We've always liked the cozy atmosphere (although it did need some updating) and also we can walk home after a couple of drinks. Last night was the second time we've been in since the new owners took over. The first time we were in was in late September for dinner. It seemed quite bright and noisy. Last night we gave it a second chance, it's still bright and noisy. It was so noisy that we could barely carry on a conversation at the table. I realize it is a busy place, however perhaps a few area rugs could make a difference with the noise.
There are not a lot of items on the menu that appealed to me so I ordered the beef dip. I have to say it was delicious. The portions were large enough that not one of us at the table was able to finish our meals.
We will most likely return for a dance or music bingo but for a relaxing dinner out I will choose somewhere else in the future.
The server was nice, friendly, but we missed seeing Cheryl, our one familiar face. :)
I would give my meal 5 stars, the menu 4 stars (in general) but the noise level dropped my review...
