I would never recommend this Chinese restaurant period to any of my family, friends and or local community residents. In my last ten years from orderly from many different Chinese Restaurants as Chinese is one my favorite types of food to eat. "Not recommend Chinese business"
I have found that this specific Chinese restaurant “Zhou's at Como lake in Coquitlam BC” when doing business with this Chinese restaurant, that they always mess up your food order regardless of how good your communication skills. For a great example, would be today Sept 07 16. I ordered chicken and rice noodle with a large wonton soup and four cans of seven up pop with four spring rolls. I was informed that I could not use debit card which acted like a visa because that service was not offered and only credit card or cash could be accepted. Most places I have ordered from compared to Zhous, I have never had issues around payment.
So I went out of my way to drive to a local store with a atm of my bank to release cash to have to drive all the way back home and wait for my food with the cost of gas via travel. My food from Zhou's was eventually brought by the delivery driver which he was a little friendly. However after giving that business “Zhous” a three dollar tip not including my bill as courtesy when receiving my food order.
The courtesy that I received back was that I opened my order bag to find no wonton soup period regardless of size and just rice. I called the restaurant politely and immediately explained to the restaurant their mistake with my order. As I clearly repeated my food order over the phone with the caller who took my order. The person that was on the phone was quite rude and did not care about customer satisfaction. She then offered to deliver the wonton soup back to me with charging me the difference for their company mistake. So I just decided to accept my incorrect order and leave the business with a three dollar tip after receiving such gross customer service and mistakes in food orders that have happening each time when ordering with this specific Chinese restaurant firm on a regular basis over the years. I wish I knew about the mistake in my order before providing the business with a 3 dollar tip not including the bill itself. The only reason I order from this Chinese place is because of how close it is to my home.
Commenting about the food, the food was just standard and I would not say the food was cooked deliciously. I would say that you pay more for the food then the results of how delicious the food was. Meaning you do not get what you pay for. In all and all, I would definitely not recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone because of my personal experience on a year to year basis. I have ordered from this restaurant before and have ate inside the place. My grandparents that have been huge on orderly Chinese food in this local area from Zhous, have stated to me on multiple occasions on how the food was not as delicious as it used to be in the past. Just wanted to share my experiences. I would prefer not too comment...
Read moreI would have given this place a zero star if I could: Zhou's Chinese Restaurant on Como Lake. This is one of the worst places I have ordered from and we order out quite often. We ordered food and it arrived quite late from when it was suppose to come. Then we paid for the whole bill and also tipped the driver.
When we go to eat they had completely missed our noodles as it was not delivered. This is one of the things that my kids were really looking forward to. Then when my husband called back the person did not speak English very well. She said they were closing and she could not answer very well and did not even bother to ask if we wanted the noodles delivered or wanted to give us a credit for their mistake.
When we started eating our chicken in black bean sauce and another chicken dish, both tasted like the chicken was still raw with a weird after taste. We could not even eat the food and I then had to make additional food for my kids so that they had something to eat. What is the point of ordering food when you still have to make it.
This comapany's service and their food were both disgusting compared to the food and service we are used to. Don't ever order from this place as it is the worst in terms of customer service and...
Read moreFirst of all, the guy that answers the phone has a very rude and unwelcoming tone to his voice. As if your call hinders his way of life. Secondly, I've never thrown $55 dollars if food out in my life until I ordered from here. The wonton soup smelled like urine, when I opened the lid my whole place smelled like bad fish and toilet. There was like 3 specs of chicken in the chow mein and the beef and gailan dish was far too expensive for such a small portion. Not only will it never return, I will tell my friends and family a out my experience.
In summary, repulsive service and disgusting food that's way too expensive.
Try Chan's Garden on Columbia instead. Or even Yan's...
