Added February 2024. We stayed here few times before. We always come back, yet this time I was by myself . I made the reservation online and paid . On arrival ( after long trip , very tired and not feeling well), the receptionist insisted on seeing the visa I reserved with. I didn’t have it as it is my wife’s. We prefer using this one for hotels due to the good points system. I showed him my ID and informed him what I do for work ( health care ), he didn’t care . ( we had done this before lots of times even in the Hilton !, no one ever asked me to show the visa used for payment). Finally he said there is a form my wife can fill out and email them instead of presenting the actual visa. I agreed and emailed it to my wife who was out with kids for few hours . I requested to get the keys and rest till this occur , he refused !! He said not till I get the form. I was tired and ill actually taking medication and couldn’t even wait , but I had to sit in reception till the form was done . Very unacceptable behaviour and terrible service. If the manager sees this post and care , I hope he/ she don’t reply by the usual stupid excuses as it is the policy , sorry for inconvenience. If they really care , and want to solve this they should provide a direct number and name of person to talk to / case number etc Otherwise, we will never be back . Rooms are very tidy. Pool and slide are absolute fun for the kids when they are working ! Nice buffet breakfast !

This Courtney BC pet friendly hotel met our needs and in some ways exceed them. The breakfast buffet was excellent offering a variety of hot options including eggs, bacon/sausage, pancakes, muffins, assortment bread & bagels, condiments, milk, cereal, yogurt, and decent coffee! Our beds were adequate comfort, loved having 4 pillows each! The pool and hot tub was awesome as the temperature was perfect, the hot tub was actually hot and pool had heat too! Our one issue, was the covid-19 safety procedures for the pool area should be enhanced. Allowing up to 35 people is way too high. It should be reduced significantly. Most resorts we have been too give you 45 minutes limits and only same travelers to allow for safe distancing and sign in to track who used and when for contact tracing. Luckily, the 1st day was just the two of us but the following day had 4 different social bubbles, a family of 3, 2 groups of 2, and a family of 7, so 14 total. That was pushing social distancing limits. Other than that, we would recommend this hotel, perhaps not use the amenities at this time.

It was a last minute work trip for me. I was busy working so didn't get to use all the amenities. They have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi, also a little 24 hour gym. Very handy. Super friendly staff although I only stayed here for 3 nights, I felt like home. They attended to my needs immediately (gave me a hair dryer when the one in the room was not working, gave me water kettle when I need hot drinking water, etc.) The bed was comfortable and they provided different firmness of pillows. Room was warm, coffee station, complimentary buffet breakfast, free coffee/tea till 11pm. Wi-Fi was not the best but I was ok with it as I wasn't working in my room. This is just the one area they may need to improve on. Overall it's a 2-star hotel with 4-star service, I will definitely stay here again when I get a chance! Thanks again to the friendly staff, they made my day after every long working day!

I've stayed at this location several times since they first opened in 2009. The paint was barely dry when they first opened and the service, cleanliness and décor was fantastic. That was in 2009. I'm spending 2 days here on business and the first thing that struck me was mold on the tiles in my bathroom. It's not too difficult to put a little bleach and hot water in a spray bottle and clear that up. But there seems to be a definite break-down of quality control. When I mentioned this to the front desk, a simple lack of empathy was offered. But I think this was because I had just finished mentioning how teed-off (not the word I used) I was at the incompetence of the hotel.

This was due to the fact that I had left a clothing item behind during my last stay, definitely a mistake thinking it would get back to me. After arriving back home from my 2 week business trip on the island, I realized I had lost a sentimental pair of shorts given to me by someone who has since passed away. After a couple of weeks, I called the hotel to ask if they had perhaps found anything left behind in my room and unfortunately, they said "no".

What could it hurt to ask during this stay if they had found anything from my previous trip, right? Front desk checked and there was a note on my file that they did indeed have something in lost and found. The front desk said they would ask housekeeping and that they would call me in my room shortly. A couple of hours later, no call. I went downstairs and because the hotel was so busy (I assume), they forgot to check. I quick reminder and staff was on it once again. This time, they said someone will bring my lost item upstairs to my room.

I figured I'd run some errands and by the time I return, I'll have something waiting for me in my room. I was so surprised and quite happy but only to be let down when I returned to nothing waiting. I ran downstairs to ask and a new girl (shift change), was there and she mentioned that unfortunately they did not find anything in lost and found. She said that after a few months, all articles are supposedly donated. I was furious! Why was I furious? Because I had called to specifically ask if they had found anything 2 weeks after I had departed. If I would have known I would have gladly paid for it to be shipped to me! Or have someone pick it up. Pure incompetence and unlike a higher service level hotel, they won't call you or perhaps ask if you'd like a lost item to be mailed.

Makes you wonder what do they need your phone number for. It's a small gesture, a call, an email etc... that can go a long way. But if someone is already adding a note into your profile that something was left behind, why can't they take an additional 30 seconds to copy that into an email to the client?

Lack of accountability it seems. If it's not in the job description, it's not done. Certain items just can't be...

I actually liked this hotel very much and the only reason Im giving this review a 2 star is because of the lack of leadership i observed.

We booked in January and my wife booked the king suite with Jacuzzi and was quoted the price for that room for two days. We booked with two other family's for two nights so for us to book one night seems like a mistake on their end.

Now we agreed to disagreed that someone booking made the mistake and agreed to one night in the room we had booked and move the next day with a discount on the room because the website clearly says you get a jacuzzi for $209. Not to mention when we fist arrived they put us in a downsized room and were going to still charge us the jacuzzi rate at 209$. They also overcharged the other couple that was with us the same way.

They staff was great and very welcoming however when we spoke to the morning shift they agreed to give us a discount off the rate of jacuzzi suite of 25 percent.( probably due to overbooking) Great! i was ok my wife wasn't as she promised me she made a reservation for two nights back in January for 209$ in jacuzzi suite. Feel free to check their website on those prices because they will overcharge you...

Anyways we woke up to a bill for full price because the manager who told the nice front staff to delete the 25 percent discount and basically call my wife a liar. The managers staff had fixed the problem and saved a customer for the mistake they made initially on the first booking time totally loosing a customer plus our connections as we travel with many. Our total charge for our party this week was over 1300$ and they pulled the cord for a measly 50$ in discounts.

The manager left their card and said for us to call. Thank you to the staff for being very welcoming however,

Could use some leadership from management.

Also to note:

We enjoyed our stay at the Bayview hotel. It’s very family-friendly and a great base location to explore that side of the island. The pool was well maintained and the free breakfast was great - loads of choice and replenished quickly. The staff are very pleasant. ||The only hiccups we had relate to the crib provided and cleaning. I requested a crib with my booking, called to confirm a week before and didn’t get a sense that it was much of a priority. We brought our own travel crib and I’m glad we did. When we arrived, the crib wasn’t in our room so we requested it rather than setting up our own. The crib that arrived was not something we were comfortable putting our child in. Far too old (i.e. not in line with current safety standards) and the mattress too loose around the sides. In terms of cleaning, the room was spotless when we arrived with the exception of the sofa bed sheets which we discovered marks on. As we were leaving the hotel the next morning, we requested new sheets for the sofa bed. When we returned that evening, only the sofa bed had been made up, the rest of the room had not been cleaned. And the sheets had not been changed. I think there was a misunderstanding and in fairness to the staff they brought new towels incredibly promptly. We had no other issues with housekeeping in the following days. ||I would also note that the suites are very small for the room type; long and narrow spaces. They are well maintained. ||Overall a good hotel with many attractive extras, such as the pool and...
