The new owners were the worst thing to happen to this place
I don’t support the place because they treat their staff poorly.
Everything I say is alleged; I don’t work there, but I have it on good authority. Okay, so basically, the new owners came in and gutted the business, taking things away from their employees to increase their profit. Starting with the uniform service, a solution the previous owners came to after realizing their employees could wear their uniforms more if they didn’t have to clean them themselves; gone, it costed money. Following that, they stopped giving the employee discount on expensive menu items like the steak. They then tried to get the front-of-house staff to sign a document stating that if a customer dines and dashes, that comes out of the employees' pay. Following that and some additional unpleasant social occurrences, most of the staff left, leaving just a few senior employees and a bunch of new people who were quickly hired to fill the gap. That document the owners were peddling was illegal, and the remaining senior staff opted to try and unionize to prevent the new staff from getting taken advantage of; the new staff consisted mostly of those on work visas, and young adults new to the workforce. Long story short, the plan to unionize was found out by the owners, and at least one employee was fired without just cause. “Stealing” was the claim for termination. That’s enough issues for me to no longer support BP I’ll have to idk go somewhere else for drinks and a late dinner. There are other places in town.
But if you're someone who just cares about food, I will say (to try and sway you), in addition to the staff losing more and more experienced workers each day, the owners also own the Burger King; and after negligence on their part to take the BP patties out of the freezer, they used Burger King patties instead, with no indication...
Read moreMy son and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat before we headed home. We were seated at table 62 with Taya-think that was her name. Was not very busy for a Friday night, looked to be about 3-4 serves or expos on for help on the family side. We already knew what we were getting, granted my son is 15 months old and he was hungry hungry. A few moments go by and I a see a server bring drinks and take the table in front of ours order. Walks right past us, no acknowledgement. Ok, she must be busy, understandable. As I was in the Industry for 14 years. She walks past another 4 or 5 times, still no acknowledgement.. tried to say hello but no eye contact. I thought ok, maybe I'm not I her section. 10 minutes goes by and still no server.. few more moments go by, I grab my son and we get up to leave. We talked to the host and let them know that not a single person came to our table and that we have to leave because my son is so very hungry. To the server that was supposed to serve us, try not to be a yoyo, grab your orders and great your people. Don't go to one table and then the computer. And then one table and repeat. You had booths, so go down the line and check and make sure everyone is good all in one trip. The people behind me got their meals as we sat down they needed something to go with their meal and no quality check was done and by the time we got up they were done their meals..I'm sorry if you were having a bad day and not on your game. Always ask for help! Unfortunately, this isn't the first bad experience I've had at BP. But we were desperate for some food and was the...
Read moreTonight I went for dinner with my dad. He had the ravioli which he said was delicious. He also said it was the perfect portion. I had the salmon power bowl. I was skeptical so asked our server who raved about the chicken one. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Now onto more important points…. The service: we had Aiden (I’m sorry if name was wrong I only glanced at tag) he was extremely kind, very helpful with answering any questions, and actually took the time to provide great customer service. It was a nice change the staff that we interacted with also had a good sense of humour and seemed genuinely happy to be there even despite the level of chaos and how busy it was. I even heard a different server at the next table over sharing some jokes and providing what sounded like top notch service. I hope this is their new standard. Was so impressed. I believe it was also a member in management we also spoke to who again was cheerful and happily assisting people as needed. Now for the kitchen staff… there wasn’t an empty table on either side and they were rocking it tonight. Food came out pretty quickly and was fresh and tasted amazing! I only rated atmosphere a little lower but to be clear it’s not for lack of the company or staff. It was more due to others that were dropping stuff and not picking up after themselves, or allowing littles to be about a bit more then they probably should. It’s a family restaurant though so alot of that will happen :) . Still...
