We were staying at the Creston Hotel and asked "Where would we find the best coffee in town?" Without hesitation they directed us to the Buffalo Trails Coffee House directly across the street. They were right! The coffee, food and service were amazing.

Cora and Rachel (the "Barista's") customized a "Canadiana" coffee for us (Expresso base plus medium grind, dark roast coffee). We were impressed with the menu, especially their 3-egg, ham and cheese panini. They warned us that this was usually too large for most clients, so we ordered one split between us. Best panini we have ever had. Thank-you Lexi for an amazing breakfast.

We highly recommend the Buffalo Trails Coffee House for anyone looking for a unique culinary experience topped off with great coffee, all served in a beautiful yet quaint setting.

Hot, no AC. Very small. Menu choices are chalked up all over the walls so it seems like there's so many things, it's hard to even figure out where to find what you want, but in the end it's all just coffee, fruit juice and pastries. Personally had bad service too. Stood at the counter for a few minutes with no one else in line without anyone saying anything to me even though they were standing right in front of me making coffee. I understand they didn't want to take my order get else they were busy but acknowledging customers is important. I waited so long I didn't even end up ordering. My wife still did and they screwed up the order. Customer service can vary greatly based on who is working at the time but I still say don't bother trying. The "quaint charm" of an indie coffee shop is its only allure. Everything else is...

I have been a regular customer since moving here. So much so the lovely friendly young man knows my husband's coffee order by heart. It's very rare we go anywhere else, but yesterday will be our last day supporting this business.

My family and I have gone from home owners to homeless this year, and have struggled to find stable housing which means I'm often left with periods of no internet to do my remote job. I came to Buffalo to get some work done and was told by the owner that they have an hour and a half maximum sit time, dispite me making 2 purchases and was about to make my 3rd. There were also multiple empty tables at the time, so its not like there was no where to sit.

The owner was completely heartless upon telling her my story. They lost 2 very loyal...

Edit 2021 - have been back several times in June. Staff are still friendly and efficient. Menu has really expanded. The breakfast wrap is delicious and they can do it on a gluten free bun. The coffee is back to normal, with a good flavor and no bitterness. As noted below, it must of just been an error. Would go back and recommend. Extra 2 stars! Very friendly, nice set up. Lots of food options with a great selection of gluten free treats. Had a latte, coffee was very weak, even for a small. Not sure of they used the same shot for all but was more like coffee scented milk then latte.

I haven"t been in the new location yet, but it looks amazing with some really stylish decor and very comfortable seating, not to mention the amazing patio! One of Creston's favourite cafes, I expect it will continue have amazing staff and be a flurry of daytime traffic. With locally roasted beans, fresh goodies and atmopshere for days, Buffalo Trails is the type of authentic, neighbourhoody coffee shops that Starbucks pretends to be and that others wish they were.
