New owners have taken over Sun R, and they are lovely (Unless they don’t work within the restaurant, then they have hired amazing staff) I’ve eaten here twice since they reopened because the salt and pepper squid IS THAT GOOD! Perfectly crispy, nicely spicy (I hate spice any spicier than Franks wing sauce) and the squid is fresh and easy to bite through. I had the vegetable chow mein as well and it was okay! I needed to add some soy sauce to it for some salt, but the Singapore noodles were amazing! I will continue to be back for the squid!
I did warm my squid up in the air fryer when I got home as I’m about a 15 minute drive away from the restaurant. We were there just after opening on a Sunday so the smorg was well stocked and for the most part tasty. But some of the things were lacking in seasoning, and some were just plain sad (chicken balls). One of the party had the wonton soup and said it was very good. Best part of my meal was the ginger beef. The spring rolls were a little too crispy and lacking in substance. But overall, ok. First time guests, and the total was about $100 for 4 smorgs, 2 soft drinks...
