They have some good coffees! Some of their single-origins are the closest thing to third-wave roasts I've found in Nova Scotia—if you buy it fresh at their roastery. But they stopped printing the roast date on the bags: if you're buying at a grocery store you have no way of knowing whether the coffee was roasted yesterday or last year. Yes, there are still businesses (etc) who believe that hiding important information will improve their relationships. 4.3 stars for their best roasts when fresh, two stars off since they believe that they win if they hide crucial information from us. The message that they would rather trick us into paying a premium price for stale old stock than help us brew the best cup possible is received...

We live a neighboring province (sadly we're not in Dartmouth and nextdoor to them), so almoat of our orders are delivered, but we do pick up in store when we can. Every, single, experience has been great. Staff are friendly, products are bangers, coffee is magical. I could wax poetic for days on this place. We had one order slip up, one time, and the overcompensating they did to make it up to is (which they didn't even need to do to be honest), was kind. I love them. They are my spirit animals or whatever buzz word is trending right now. Marry me anchored...

Made complaint and in the end the response was "we dont roast our beans to a true dark roast so if you desire a true dark roast not to use anchor coffee".
