Brightwood Brewery — Restaurant in Dartmouth

Lovely spot, but some growing pains they will hopefully get sorted out. Went twice and the beer was room temperature both times. The second time I went, I suppose the server must have been finishing her shift and she was counting her money so she could allow the other server to take over. She did not acknowledge me sitting in front of her once, did not make eye contact AT ALL and actually served someone right next to me, I assume from the conversation, a close friend or co-worker. I understand when you are ready to clock out and your shift is over, but at least acknowledge the customer with a "someone will be able to help you shortly, I'm just finishing here" or a smile, or something. It was the strangest situation as I was literally sitting right in front of her. I think this place will do well once they get the kinks worked out, and I hope it does. I think it's wonderful to see new places like this open up to give Dartmouth a chance to entertain the beer lovers on their side. I will give it another go in a few months. This was only our second time to Brightwood but it certainly won’t be our last. The atmosphere is so clean, fresh, and happy. The tunes are great. Every product we’ve ever tried has been delicious and bonus - they serve Humble Pie! Yum! I also love the framed vandalism in the bathroom - hilarious.

If you love people watching, I highly recommend you snag the table across the window which opens onto the street. Special thanks to Kaykue (sorry if I miss spelled!) for being so warm, welcoming, and friendly on a sunny Sunday. She was super attentive and took great care of us. Hope to see her...

Conveniently located in Downtown Dartmouth. If you can grab a stool at the window, it is a great spot to people watch on Portland St. There are many great brews on tap and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They will even let you taste the beer before you buy it so as to avoid buyers remorse. Not all craft beer is to everyone's taste, but there is something on offer for everyone.
