Underwhelmed. But I’d try it again in the future. The painted plywood tables were a bit of a surprise as I expected more b/c of the higher rating and reviews. The harbour view is super and perhaps was the best part of the visit. The “by the glass” wine menu seemed minimal. For two entrees, a glass of wine, a sangria and a dessert to share, $100 including tip would have been reasonable if the meal was a tad better. I wouldn’t normally order this but I had the special which was Strip Loin, risotto, and veggies. My daughter had the braised beef, fries, and veg. The portions were good. My steak was overcooked (should have been medium), tough, dry, and lacked anything memorable. I should have chosen seafood, my fault. The service was fine, pleasant, and attentive. The dessert was a simple vanilla ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies, which was fun and tasty! I’d choose other places for a while but I will return in time. Downtown Dartmouth has some real choices of late, and that’s exciting, so I do hope the Wooden Monkey steps up its game just a tad, I love the idea of a restaurant with that view.

Location is perfect, facing the the ocean, has a wonderful view, parking during the day is limited and you have to pay. Decoration and layout are good, I liked the decorations. Really with the view take you to different world. Cleanliness, the restaurant level of cleaning is plausible. And I noticed the quick reaction to clean the tables after clients leave. Service, the ladies who takes the order is well knowledge about the dishes and the ingredients, they can describe the dishes well. Orders, I noticed the orders are taken properly from the first time without mistakes. Time waiting, to be seated, (my experience) was quickly. Time to get the order was excellent, faster than expected. Taste, I enjoyed every part of my order, it was delicious and Rich that is self Worth the ***** Prices the price is $$ however with the perfect service, nice food and cleanliness is worth what I paid. Conclusion: it is worth the money I paid. I see if you decided to try it, my experience was all positive.

Service : staff greeted us and were accommodating with our seating requests Food: limited options without the use of a deep fryer or microwave. However flavours profiles were quiet tasty and unexpected honestly. We ordered the Korean tacos, a lot with red pepper feta and avocado dip ( not pictured ) Atmosphere: the most attractive aspect is the view of the harbour, you literally get a front row seat, with covered and uncovered options. Not much of an ambience, you make it your own. As the name says there’s all wood tables and chairs and trees, can kind of feel dated Drinks : local and craft which I appreciate. Tried the blueberry cream soda which was amazing Overall nice place to go for a healthy bite of clean food and a view. For those that need accessibility be mindful that there is an elevator some of the floor tiles in the restaurant patio exit/entrance are uneven and need to be redone as it’s a tripping hazard.

I'll start by saying that the decor and the view are lovely, but it hardly makes up for the borderline inedible food, my wife and I went in on a monday afternoon, we started with the bruscetta, which should have been some sort of warning sign on its own, but, it is hard enough to find a decent vegetarian place in Dartmouth, so we hoped that they could redeem themselves on the entree, I ordered the seitan sandwich, my wife got the lentil burger, both dishes were served on a dry, unseasoned flatbread, the seitan was heavily overdone, yet still cold, while everything else on the sandwich was bland and the veg was wilted and close to exipry my wife's meal was equally disappointing, poorly seasoned and with some very soggy veg, the roasted potatoes were burnt, yet cold and flavorless (poor use of a heatlamp) and, unfortunately several of them on both mine and my wife's plate were a little moldy tasting, we had taken a bite each of our food, and I asked the server for the bill, she did not ask if anything was wrong with the food, and we payed in full for the privilege to not eat here.($70 for two inedible sandwiches and some bad bruscetta) we ended up going across the street to a small irish pub, and got some very good veggie burgers there for a quarter...

Beautiful setting in Dartmouth on the edge of the harbour. The food however was mediocre and disappointing. I had the fish and roasties. The breaded fish was bland with a thick, dry and tasteless coating. The roasties also were dry and bland with a not-nice mouth feel. The apple cider vinegar cole slaw had too much apple cider vinegar - that's all I could taste. My friends had pizza - they were both disappointed with the crust - not made in-house. This was explained on the menu but that shouldn't be an excuse for a less-than- adequate result. The server was nice however they forgot our starter; when the main was served after a rather long wait I asked about the starter. They explained they forgot it, apologized and offered to put the order in at the kitchen at that point - too late of course since we already had the main on the table. I understand people make mistakes but it was disappointing nonetheless. The chocolate brownie however was delicious and decadent! I like the WM’s business model and the Dartmouth location, but I’m not sure I will be in a...
